Cedar topped mahogany provides a rich and mellow tonal palette

To give their WP11SNS acoustic guitar an elegant look and a smooth tone, Washburn selected the combination of a back and sides made from mahogany and a top made of solid cedar. On the whole, mahogany has a warm and slightly dark tone that's great for rhythm work. With a solid-cedar top to balance out the sound, the WP11SNS offers up a rich timbre that makes it ideal for singer/songwriters. If you're looking for a great new guitar sound to layer in your recordings, Sweetwater highly recommends a parlor-sized guitar.

Parlor Series guitars deliver classic vibe with modern performance

When a company like Washburn (that's been making instruments for over 130 years) decides to make a vintage-style guitar, you can be sure they know what they're doing. Like the rest of the Parlor Series, this WP11SNS closely resembles one of the handcrafted guitars from the late nineteenth or early twentieth century. But, like all Washburn guitars, this instrument has been made using top-of-the-line modern techniques, offering sound and performance that's better than ever.

Washburn has been producing quality fretted instruments since 1883

With humble beginnings in Chicago that date back to the 1880s, Washburn is an American institution in musical instrument manufacturing. Many of the biggest names in folk, blues, and rock 'n' roll have played these well-crafted, quality instruments. Washburn combines quality construction with premium materials to deliver instruments, such as the WP11SNS, that are ready to perform on any stage. Very nice guitar, especially for the price

I got this guitar because I wanted an acoustic that was easy to play on the couch. The smaller body is perfect for this, and the 24.75" scale is a bit easier on the fingers than my Takemine GN20CE, which has a 25.5" scale length. It sounds really nice, too; not quite as much depth as the Takemine, but for a guitar this size, it more than meets my expectations sonically. The fit & finish are very good, although both of the E strings touch the nut end if the tuner slots. But this doesn't seem to affect tuning stability, and the intonation is spot on. And it's really light, making it easy to play, sitting or standing; the absence of strap buttons is the reason I gave it 4 1/2 stars. It's a shame that the case for it has to be special-ordered, but that's a very minor inconvenience. The bottom line is this guitar is well worth the price, in my opinion.

Washburn WP11SNS - Natural

I needed a guitar to take to outdoor festivals and not worry about accidents befalling my vintage parlors. I was somewhat hesitant to order an instrument online without actually playing it. The instrument arrived and was setup very well by the Sweetwater techs and was exactly what I was looking for. Great communications and follow-up from the Swetwater staff. I especially liked that the guitar gallery which really helps in making a selection.
