I don't usually write reviews on products but must say this midi worked perfectly. Ive had the 36 watt grandmeister for a long time. all they had at the time was the wired version for the I pad when i set it up. effective but difficult on stage with the wired midi. I moved up to the mesa boogie for a while when the gig was more hard rock. when i tried to start a blues rock gig it proved difficult to re adjust for new sounds. With a new I pad i found this wireless interface worked perfectly first time. I downloaded the network software and it synced right away. Not only that but i can use the foot pedal at the same time, midi thru.

Don't waste your money. Looks like they "solved" the connection issue but now every time you change a preset it looses connection and, more frustrating, it knocks my internet offline for 5-10 min. AP mode wouldn't work either. Really disappointed I purchased HK products.

After iPad update to iOS 14 the WMI-connect app doesn't communicate with WMI-1 anymore. Waiting for an app-update for more then two months now.

This worked great until IOS14, but it does not work AT ALL with IOS 14. The app has not been updated in 5 years, so there is concern it will not be updated for IOS14 compatibility. The app does not "see" the amp connection, even after your iPad connects to it. The wireless device does nothing without the app, so do not buy it until you confirm the compatibility issue has been fixed.

I think it's a must-have add-on--makes controlling the H&K Grandmeister 40 Deluxe easier and more fun.

the interface makes saving presets much simpler and quicker. Also helps in dialing in the tones you want because you can see the controls at their real value and even show number values on the screen.

So I've had my Grandmeister Deluxe 40 for a year now and I love it. It's the best amp I've ever owned. I knew about this piece of tech but I didn't have an iPad so I didn't bother. Finally got an iPad so I thought I would try this out as well. This thing is a game changer. I didn't realize I could love my amp more than I already did. Everything works flawlessly and at instant speed. The menus are easy to get around and I love how easy everything works. I didn't realize how bad I needed this thing. Do yourself a favor and get this if you're getting a compatible amp to go with it!

As they say - the best of both worlds. Compared to a digital modeler there is just no comparison. This is a real tube amp, with real tone - but by being able to control it all via the airwaves with an iPad, it's the ultimate.

With the help of my sales associate, I have had many amps at our studio - from Marshall Codes, to Mesa Boogies to a couple from Hughes and Kettner. Nothing but the H&K could pull this off.

Easy to setup. Great app. Seems bulletproof (no glitches so far!). Love setting tones and saving them. Yet, can still use the head without the app. Love it!

If you already have an iPad, it makes the process of creating and storing Grandmeister Dlx 40 presets so much easier.

This is the second musical device I purchased from Sweetwater that features wireless connectivity. The first was my mixer, the second is my new H&K GrandMeister40 Deluxe amp head. I added this on to my package because I already saw the value of having it on hand as a new user to H&K amps. The demo videos made using the amp very simple and easy to understand; I doubt that I would be able to get as much out of the amp today if I had waited to add this on. The iPad app that manages the presets and other functions is unbelievably easy to use, and makes programming the amp a snap.

H&K should also have included this as part of the STANDARD amp head kit; I would also weight this device's impact on the amp's usefulness at 25%. How else to access the presets, save & share, etc.? You'd be lost...

Still, great stuff! Nicely designed, seems well-built.

I've had my H&K Grandmesiter 36 for some time now. I frequently use it with my iPad and the apple app to control this amp. Until recently, I had been using cables to connect to this amp along with the iRig module. It worked, but the cables were just too much of a hassle to deal with, so I opted for the H&K WMI-1.

Let me tell you, this thing just works, is easy to set up and operates flawlessly! No lag, latency or any other connectivity issues to deal with. The only cable I deal with now is the one that runs from my amp to my guitar! Works perfectly and I am absolutely blown away!

If you have an H&K Grandmesiter 36 and use the apple app with an iPad (or iPhone), this is the interface device you need!
