Custom-built PRS with Hand-selected Woods
Some people simply blend in with the pack. That's not you though, is it? Then why settle for an off-the-shelf guitar? You need an axe as distinctive as you. The PRS Wood Library 408 Semi-hollow is just such an instrument. This exquisite electric guitar's mahogany body is capped with a quilted maple 10-Top, while its East Indian rosewood neck is topped with a figured ebony fingerboard. These woods were hand-selected by Sweetwater and can't be found in any PRS core or Artist package. And it sounds incredible — 408 pickups with switchable coils deliver the full gamut of humbucker and single-coil tones. Own this semi-hollow, and you'll stand out in any crowd.

Mahogany topped with maple looks and sounds amazing
To give the Wood Library 408 Semi-hollow a rich yet balanced sound, PRS began by choosing the tried-and-true combination of mahogany topped with a select figured maple 10-Top. This guitar's semi-hollow mahogany body gives you natural tonal warmth and resonance, which is offset perfectly by the brighter tone of its maple top. Together, these tonewoods give you an incredibly balanced sound.
Custom-wound 408 pickups and switching provide endless tone
When PRS released their Signature Limited model, everyone at Sweetwater who got a chance to check out the new 408 pickups was absolutely blown away. But true to his perfectionist nature, Paul Reed Smith continued to tweak these 100% proprietary pickups to perfection. In fact, he discovered that by tightening up the pickup field on a 408 Bass pickup, he was actually able to create an even better sounding treble pickup. The Wood Library 408 Semi-hollow features a pair of these amazing 408 pickups. But it doesn't stop there, these amazing pickups also have dedicated mini switches, so you can shift to a timeless single-coil sound instantaneously. Best of all, there is no volume loss when switching to single-coil mode!
Pattern profile neck feels great and plays smoothly
The Wood Library 408 Semi-hollow is fitted with PRS's Pattern neck. A hallmark of PRS quality, neck shapes are, of course, critical to your playing experience. Perfected after years of prototyping, the Pattern neck is an updated Wide Fat PRS neck style based on designs Paul Reed Smith did in the '70s and '80s for Carlos Santana, Peter Frampton and Howard Leese of Heart. The Wood Library 408 Semi-hollow's figured ebony fingerboard and exquisite gold mother-of-pearl inlays complete the package.
