Ive played Ludwig and Sonar. Ludwig was...... meh ; Sonor was ok but you would have to drop for one of their good kits. This kit is just flat out awesome! This is by far the best kit I have played. Sounds awesome. Cuts through and owns the music. I would compare it like how Krupa played in the 1940s. Tama sounds and cuts liek Krupa... and that is saying ALLOT This kit OWNS IT !

Have played them all as a 50 year professional drummer. And because of that I can say TAMA is the only true choice. Been a customer exclusively the last 35 years. I own this kit and the walnut/birch shells are so smooth in every range. The molten brown burst finish is top notch and the locking hardware is a God send to any venue drummer. I can set this kit up in 10 minutes exactly the same Everytime. Bet the snare as I did and the complete package will amaze you. All prons with one con, I am. Loyal Aquarian head junkie. Absolutely the most beautiful and best sounding drums I have ever owned.. hands down!

This was my first foray into Tama drums and I am not disappointed. I have owned probably 50 or more drum sets over the years and have been a Sonor fan (and former dealer) for a very long time.

The shells are absolutely gorgeous. Lucious glossy finish over an amazing fade/stain. These are thin shells and they sound amazing. The Birch gives them some serious punch while the Walnut ads some low end. I never played them with the stock heads, but I may put the G2s on at some point to to gage the difference.

The drum packaging was a surprise. Very well designed and functional. It seemed as if whoever packed this drum set expected to have to unpack it themselves. I never had a packing job impress me before, but this one did.

The floor tom leg brackets and toms mount brackets are user friendly and make for a speedy set up and allow for lots of sustain. The floor toms sustain as well as the toms do.

My only "con" with this set is that with the way the tom mount incorporates the ball system and the mounts are quite loose (by design), getting some symmetry with the toms in quite tricky. There may be a trick to it that I haven't figured out, but at least one you set it like you want it, everything that should need to move doesn't.

All in all this in an amazing shell pack and I wish it had been in stock when I first got it in my sites. Once it came available again, I didn't hesitate.

I seriously cannot imagine how this set could disappoint anyone. Big shout out to Joel Grumblatt for the amazing service with this order.

Great Price on the 6 Piece Kit. They sound fantastic with the Evans G2 heads that came with it. I use 1 Moon Gel on the 14" and Two on the 16" for slight muffling. They are super resonant and Warm sounding. The Molten Brwon Burst Finish has gotten many compliments, Several have said it's the best Looking Kit they have ever seen. Star cast mounting system is the best. The floating Tom Legs and memory locks are the best. Tama is #1. Only brand ive ever owned and will ever buy.

The best drums ever, sound unmatched. The quality of the hardware is amazing, this drum set is warm and punchy. And it's reasonably priced, you get your money's worth.

Getting a brand new set of drums for me is a big deal. I've heard good things about Sweetwater so I decided to buy from them. My drums arrived... I had a drum with damage due from shipping. I called my sales engineer, TJ & he assured me that it would be resolved. Within a few days, I had a replacement. The customer service can't be beat! Don't hesitate about dealing with Sweetwater. Like me, you'll be glad you did.
