TAMA's Starclassic Walnut/Birch Lacquer drums take the basic design of their acclaimed Starclassic Maple series and put a cool twist on it. These drums feature the combination of mellower birch with the stiffness of walnut. This results in a supremely dynamic sound that features the characteristic warmth of birch shells enhanced by the heavier attack of walnut plies. Beyond that, Starclassic Walnut/Birch Lacquer drums come complete with all of the outstanding hardware that sets the Starclassic series apart. This includes TAMA's die-cast hoops, Star-Cast mounting system, and Quick-Lock tom brackets, plus each shell comes outfitted with quality Evans heads.

Excellent drums Tama does it again.
I was not sure about the color at first but wow when you see them in person they definitely make a statement. These sound good right of the box it comes with G2 batters so they are good to go unless you want to replace the stock heads. I went with Evans UV2 batters and Evan EC Reso's and these drums sound great. Sweetwater sales and service are excellent ordered the drums on December 21st and received them Christmas eve what a great present to open up in the morning.

These are my favorite drums I have ever owned. In fact I am selling the recording customs I played for the last 20 years. They are great on quieter gigs since the tone opens up at low volumes, also louder gigs they gave a punchy sound when ya whack em. Easy to tune up and hold tune pretty well. I also love the memory locks making for quick set up. They also look so great!
