A game changer!!
Great improvement from what I was using before. Rich pristine vocals.
Awesome
I ordered Evo didn't know how work it
I asked if could exchange it for Volt 1 they said absolutely
So asked for couple recommendations and Sweetwater said volt 1 would be perfect
I don't know much included free plugins for metal that they offer for free downloads
I downloaded some free trial guitar software like amptitube tonelib some other guitar software and it works perfect.
I want to thank Sweetwater for there help
Great First Impressions (Make Sure You Install the Drivers Before Using)
After getting tired of my old Behringers latency issues when trying to direct input my guitar to use on guitar apps like Bias FX and other guitar amp apps I decided to hunt for something to solve the problem. When I saw UA made an affordable interface that gets good reviews for both latency and sound quality combined with Sweetwater I decided to give it a try.
The interface is packaged very nicely and feels well-built out of the box. The knobs feel like good-quality plastic and turn very smoothly. The buttons feel good as well.
Now for the important stuff. After hooking it up, installing the drivers, and getting my DAW set to the right input and outputs for it this interface works great. The latency problem is gone, it works about as close to a real amp as I need it to. The sound is great and all is well both using the DAW and the Bias FX app.
Music sound quality has improved noticeably as well through my monitors. The headphone amp is a pleasant surprise I was not expecting. If you're looking for a good headphone amp you might want to give this a try.
The bonus software is a nice touch too and the only negative I can say is ILOK can be a little bit of a pain if you havent used it in a while.
Will update if anything changes but for now I cannot imagine a better interface a t this price point.
Exactly what I needed for my mixing/editing station
I received my Volt 1 promptly (thanks to Ryan V.) and I'm super happy with it. I chose this very simple, one-input interface for my mixing/editing station where I don't typically record, but more often mix and master, as well as perform my video and podcast editor work. Setup was a breeze, it comes with great plugins, and the official UA videos from SanjayC are just great; to the point and well produced.
My son owns the Volt 276 (loves it) so I was familiar with the series. If you have basic needs, want to connect your studio monitors, and get a really decent collection of free plugins (thanks, LABS team from Spitfire Audio), the Volt 1 will deliver.
Reliable and Top Notch Quality for a very reasonable price
I've been using this for months and have not had a single issue with it. The portability is fantastic, I love that it uses USB-C, and the flat shape gives you the flexibility to place things on top if need be (my CalDigit TS3+ is on top of mine).
Never had any issues with latency or cracks/pops. The quality and reliability that this device offers is outstanding for its price range. I would highly recommend this unit.
Solid Entry Audio Interface
I purchased this as a complete beginner to recording audio. The interface itself is simple and easy to use. It plays nicely with reaper and, in my limited expertise, seems to be of nice quality.
It doesn't have a standard headphone jack which threw me off but a cheap 1/4" to 3.5mm adaptor did the trick. It came with a nice suite of plug-ins to start with as well (shout out to melodyne). As a beginner to recording this has been a great purchase and I'd recommend it!
Wish I bought this one first...
I bought a Focusrite a few months back thinking it will work just fine with my PC, but it turns out that it didn't. The applications didn't want to download, and if they did download, they didn't want to open half the time. Needless to say, I sent it straight back.
Now I have this crazy awesome AI, and my mind is absolutely blown. It was easy to set up. The applications were super easy to download and open. And I didn't feel like pulling out my hair in frustration because the applications were complicated.
Great interface!
I used other brands interfaces and to me this one manages sound better. I use it with my microphone before my mixer for volume and noise reduction and its excellent. Great built and more than you standard sound shaping options.
Sweetwater has a great service team
I just got the UA Volt after an intensive review. The process with UA is not the best to get your plugins included with the device, but the service you get from Sweetwater is one of the best.
The product arrived 2 days earlier.
I believe it is a good investment because you get the LA2A plugins, they are top for compression/limiting acoustic instruments or any track that needs smooth and clean compression. I have the UAD2 plugins and since I move my system from desktop to a laptop I was not able to use the UAD card anymore.
UA Thunderbolt 1
Bought this for when I'm on the road and need to catch some ideas or just record some direct signals for later on. Works perfectly for what I need. No complaints. As always, UA never disappoints.
Best thing since sliced bread...
The sound quality is superb and it's so easy to use. I would recommend this to ANYONE!
finally better sound!!!!
THIS THING IS GREAT....
I have always hated the quality of sound emanating from my IMAC.....
decided to give this a try
I can state with 100% certainty that doing the A-B comparison, the sound using the volt is MUCH MUCH BETTER.
top end is smoother.....bottom in tighter and more pronounced without being over bearing.
best purchase EVER!!!!!!!!!!
if you have a computer to listen to music, YOU NEED THIS.
in truth,
randy
It's quality
It's quiet and makes me sound good through my AT4040. Excellent build quality's worth the extra price over other manufacturers. It's a little heavier than expected, but that's a plus, and it stays put on my desk thanks to four good-sized rubber feet. Works as advertised. If the specs fit your needs, you can't go wrong with the Volt 1.
LOVE IT!!!
I got my unit last week.
I must say, I got more then what I paid for it.
I love that I have separate headphone and monitor control knobs.Everything has plenty of gain which is a plus.
I had a one knob unit and I didn't care for it much. But this sounds, looks and works great!
There's no issues with connectivity at all. Now, if you want to take advantage of the software bundle
be aware that 1 or 2 of the plugings require a ilok. But other then that your all good!
I'll be using this for a long time.
Thank you Patrick Dennis!
Your and awesome salesmen!
Great for the price
I use this for my mobile rig. Sounds great! Easy operation!
No AMD chipset support
This is a warning to all potential buyers of a Volt interface. The UA support team now tells me that their Volt products do not work on AMD based systems. The product pages on Sweetwater and on the UA website make no mention of this obvious deficiency. This Intel bias among certain manufacturers should really stop. My Volt 1 does work somewhat, but once a project grows this unit will start to stutter and click. Not unusual in itself. However if you try to increase the buffer settings, performance actually worsens, severely! I have tested it in Reaper 7 and Ableton 11. Ableton is unusable and Reaper only works if you check a box in the preferences to "ignore ASIO reset messages (needed for some buggy drivers)". This right here tells me that UA could probably write a driver for this hardware without too much investment, but instead chooses to reject a huge user base. In my opinion, AMD, since the introduction of the Ryzen 5000 series, has certainly equaled if not thoroughly surpassed Intel in audio workstation performance. Also, I have run several other interfaces for the last 10 years on AMD computers and never had a driver/hardware issue on any of them. So, if you have an AMD system, do not buy the Volt products and make certain if you plan on buying any UA hardware that you contact them before hand to ensure AMD compatibility. They do not tell you on the product page.
