Awesome! Nice professional sound!

By Gene Humphrey from CORAOPOLIS, PA on March 2, 2023 Music Background: I have bee a percussionist my whole life but now play acoustic guitar and sing lead vocal..

I currently play in a trio. Two acoustic guitarists and vocalist, a harmonica player and I also play kick drum while I play the guitar. We throw in a mandolin, banjo and bass some too. You can really FEEL the kick drum now. Real nice deep sound. Great controls for the boost and the cut for the sub-woofer too. I thought I would try one with the two 1000w tops, which is great, but it sounds so good that I just have to order another one. Highly recommended!

Moves some air

By Paul from Homeworth, Ohio on July 30, 2021 Music Background: Event DJ

Thought by replacing two 15" No name brand passive Subs with this one Behringer 15 inch powered sub would mean I would still need to use two of them. Actually that is not the case... Pushing two 500W passive Subs with two external rack mount amps in the past was a pain with my DJ Business. I am really impressed with this Sub! It moves some air and sounds amazing with my two 15" Mackie's ... Eliminated about 250lbs from my weight load which is a blessing now. I believe this unit is a very underrated piece of Equipment for the application. I appreciate the price, the quality of the build and sound it produces.

Practice PA system

By Sweetwater Customer on August 5, 2020

Very happy with the bass output of the subwoofer. We are using for a practice PA system, and do not move it around. It seems quite durable.

got boom

By Dj William from sikeston mo on May 4, 2019 Music Background: pro dj and sound engineer

Yo man check this out... 15 500 watts. What you see is a good investment, Not much cash Behringer done a good job just get rid of those ugly yellow triangles. I take black duck tape and cut a triangle to cover those ugly things up. But I will tell you these are a good bang for the buck. I got over 14 yrs as a pro sound engineer over 5 yrs Dj'ing and a musician over 25 yrs so I can tell you I know sound almost deaf but I feel it more now.

Boomin on a budget

By John C on October 10, 2017

This 15" Behringer sub does a great job on a budget. It is super easy to setup, has 100HZ cutoff outputs for your speakers, clip indicator light, and much more. The box is durable and well made. Even though it says its frequency range is 40hz-150hz, this thing can dig lower. Sounds great on instruments, works perfect for adding some boom to a kickdrum, and bumps great on music.

Big Bang Without a Big Price

By Sweetwater Customer on November 24, 2016

The VQ1500D has shown me a side of Behringer that I have not seen before. I had a JBL 18" sub fail on me. This purchase was a quick and easy remedy that would allow me to get through the next big. Like most, I dismissed Behringer as a sub-par company that produced a sub-par product. This active sub enclosure proved me wrong.

The advertised 500 watts is peak power; a marketing trick most have fallen for. I am not sure what the RMS rating is at the moment, but I can tell you that this little 15" enclosure blows my JBL away in terms of performance, punch, clarity, and durability. The class D amp has a limited that keeps the speaker and amp safe. The volume of the sub plays a trick on the ears and makes you think it is louder than it is. The 15" speaker is right and extremely responsive.

My only regret is that I could have purchased the 18" model of this sub for the same price. I am not going to let that ow me down though, I doubt anyone will ever know I am running a 15" instead of an 18" sub. The VQ1500D has a permanent home in my live set up.

Great Sub Great Price

By Aaron on November 10, 2016

I needed a sub to replace an 18" JBL and decided to save money and try what is considered by many to be a cheap, entry level piece of equipment. My only regret is that I did not see the 18" VQ1800D for the same price. However, the 15" VQ1500D is not giving up anything to it's big brother from what I can tell. This active sub has no problem doing its job. In fact, The Behringer has more punch, clarity, and volume than my JBL (no, I am not providing the model number for the JBL. I am not bashing JBL's line or name).

The built in crossover is phenomenal. It makes dialing in a good sound for a live band or DJ event effortless. If you find any phasing issues they are quickly cleared up with the touch of a switch on the rear panel.

I was impressed enough to make a second order and add a pair of Behringer VS1520 mains. They should compliment this sub perfectly.

I want to thank Patrick and the rest of the staff for their quick service and shipping. Everything was on time, and the sub was packed well enough to survive anything FedEx could throw at it.

Behringer VQ 1500 D...sweet deal!!!

By DJ NO REQUEST from Santa Barbara, Ca on March 10, 2016 Music Background: 35 year Musician / 5 year DJ

First of all for the Sweetwater price is a great deal. I purchased the Behringer VQ 1500D to add some bass to my (Average at best) DJ system. I was using two 2-way powered loud speakers that I was pushing hard for every gig and trying not to over drive them but not anymore. With this sub I don't come close to over driving any of the speakers. Adding this powered sub to my system is the biggest and best thing I ever did. The performance is spectacular , the construction and appearance is total pro. The rear controls allow me to Phase my bass and customize the amount of bass I need. This sub pushes the sound through out my house and is heard in every room at the same level. Bass is one of the frequencies that can be heard anywhere. I cant say enough about this product. I tried other 18 inch subs before but they were a bit to floppy and a bear to transfer to gigs. This 15" is perfect and it allows me to use another one if I need to. But for now its plenty. Later, DJ NO REQUEST Santa Barbara. CA.

Behringer VQ1500D

By Ken from Florida on November 23, 2015 Music Background: Drumming for over 40 yrs

Lots of thump for the $$$$ This sub has punch and thump for only 500 watts. Clean, quiet and lightweight.I have the Behringer Eurolive B115D for on top and they match perfectly. Mid to large rooms 200-1000 peps. Outside we had no prob pushing them with the full power trio and everything mic'd-up.

House of Worship

By Adam from Cairo, GA on December 23, 2014 Music Background: Worship leader

We have a small room and a small congregation (about 125 on average). This sub is quiet. This sub is clean. This sub is loud! I'm not even @ noon and it is thumping. It would blow your hair back if you wanted it to. We have digital drums and run our bass direct. I can't even begin to tell you the improved clarity we have achieved. We needed thump, and could not achieve it without a lot of volume. Thanks to this sub, we can keep our volume at a comfortable level for the "old folks" but we gained the "feel" that all the young pple were missing.
We had a youth night recently and had the opportunity to push this sub and it was bad news! I love this sub. It is great for a small room and 1 is plenty! 5 stars

Great bang for the buck!

By Sweetwater Customer on October 11, 2018

This little guy is solid! For the price, Behringer has created quality gear that will last when taken care of! This sub mixes in GREAT with my system for all my DJ events and more.

Sweeeeet!

By Sweetwater Customer on February 26, 2018

Meets our needs perfectly!

Very nice bought two

By Rick from Houston on May 18, 2017

One for in house partys is plenty, was worried one wouldn't be enough for an outdoor party of 100 people so I bought another one. They paired great with the QSC K10s, was DJing in between a Blues Band and got lots of compliments. With both subs half way up was good enough to get the dance floor going.

I Love it !

By Fred from Tucson on June 26, 2015 Music Background: 1800 band jobs

Finally I can feel the music not just hear it. As a keyboardist this monster makes me want to do bass solos. I've got it paired with the Space Station which unfortunately doesn't have XLR. Got a pole and made a 6' behemoth. Music takes Talent, Practice and Equipment. At least I go one. The half star drawback-- Even the UPS guy wouldn't bring it in the house. He actually ran away. THX

Rocken Subwoofer

By Dennis Wilson from Georgetown, Texas on December 18, 2019

Purchased this sub to liven up the bottom end of band performances. It really fills the need. It has more then enough power to handle large venues and over the weekend it was used in 2 smaller venues and the bass frequencies were crips and clean. Highly recommend this unit.

Decent Sub

By Keegan from PNW on September 17, 2018 Music Background: Producer/DJ

The VQ1500D is a decent, cost-effective little sub. Small and light enough for a fit person to carry alone, it puts out a good amount of bass for a small event. The controls and connectors are firm and well designed. Good handles and carpet covering.

The only downside I would mention is that it is not the most powerful sub in the world. Bassheads and larger events will be left craving more. With that said, at this price point, I think this unit is tough to beat.

Good for medium sized venues

By Sweetwater Customer from Dallas on May 10, 2018

Frankly, I've never had to crank this up all the way but it definitely does the job for small to medium-sized rooms. It serves as a hub for connecting the rest of your speakers, which saves on cables running all over the place. After a year of use I haven't had any problems with overheating, but I use this more to balance out the sound than to generate thundering dance beats.

The pole mount is convenient and if you have a dual speaker pole mount, all the better. It is covered with indoor/outdoor carpet, which I prefer over vinyl, which saves on scratches and rips. Naturally, it is heavy. I have to carry around a pair of snap-together plastic dollies to move it. IMy only concern during transportation is the grille. So far, transporting my gear in an E250 with tie-downs has been okay but I do wish they made a slip cover with some sort of rigid protection for the front.

BEHRINGER SUB.

By MANNY from EL PASO TX on March 16, 2017 Music Background: AMATEUR.

GREAT SOUND AND THE BEST PART IS EASY TO SET UP AND TRANSPORT.

Good sub

By Tyler Elliott from Michigan on July 23, 2016

I bought this subwoofer to compliment my lacking electronic drum amplifier. I wanted my toms and kick drum to stick out more at higher volumes where my drum amp just couldnt keep up with the LF demand. This subwoofer does exactly that. It isnt an overwhelming punch but i didnt expect it to provide that at such an affordable price. I have only used it for a couple days so im sure it will aound even better as it breaks in. It does exactly what i wanted it to by filling out my sound and now my Roland TD-30 drumkit is equally as loud if not louder than my unmic'd acoustic. Very pleased so far!

Good Thump!

By Tom from Iowa on November 6, 2015

Love the thump! I use this to plug a kickbass into and I love it. I had a bass player and myself connected and it worked great. I should have given 4 stars but the only disadvantage is that this sucker is heavy. They did put handles on the side ( which are essential) but it's still awkward to lug around. I'm just a firm believer that speakers 50lbs or more should have wheels. It would make it easier to even move around on stage, get positioned and then lock it down. When you don't have easy ways to transport awkward or heavy equipment you're less likely to buy it or use it. It'd be awesome if the just started making speakers/amps with wheels and extendable handles like the do with luggage. Having said all that, it's a perfect addition for the low end!

Weak driver

By Richard Franchetto from Somerset, CA on February 19, 2024 Music Background: Music producer/media editor

I can't get this sub to sit happy. I have crossovers, compressors, eq; I've attempted just about everything with this sub, to no avail. At low levels, the driver can sound clean and slightly punchy, but as soon as you try to bump your speakers slightly, the driver just bottoms out and grinds on the coil. I would not recommend this sub. Even in a small 11x11 room, I have issues getting this particular box to function half way decent, at reasonable volumes. TLDR, my stock Nissan sedan stereo hits harder than this sub. The enclosure is built decently and it does have convenient features, albeit the crossover is very "approximated" and the bass boost is not something I would ever feel comfortable implementing.
