Not for swells

By Sweetwater Customer from Texas
Music Background: Studio & Touring musician

Just used this in the studio for slow swells instead of an Ernie Ball. Extremely difficult to get good consistent slow swells because the taper and sweep are just too jumpy and quick. The Ernie Ball is perfectly tapered for smooth slow swells but this Mission vm-pro will jump from silent to 100% wayy too quickly. Additionally, since the chassis is similar to a cry baby, it's got a much shallower sweep making it feel EVEN QUICKER from 0-100%. I couldn't use this for anything other than a mute pedal, just not good for smooth volume swells.

Mission Comes Through

By Eric D. from Redding, CA

Update to my previous review - I sent this pedal off to Mission Engineering and they fixed it. Not too much cost, happy to have it back. It's the bomb volume pedal tonally and option-wise, solid 4 for that. One star off for the hassle and cost to have it fixed after such light use. I'd buy it again.

Good Sound, Terrible Lifespan

By Eric D. from Redding, CA

I bought this Mission VM-PRO volume pedal 3 years and a few months ago. Used it happily for the handful of gigs since then (less than 2 dozen if that)where it sounded good and didn't suck tone.

Then the last gig it stopped working. Very little signal passes and is hugely distorted, and even with the treadle all the way back (set so that it should be off completely) now there is a lot of noise, hissing and such. Nothing had changed on my board from the last gig where it worked fine.

Out of warranty, my only option is to send it off to get fixed - without any idea of how much that will cost.

Not happy.

A+ for Sweetwater again

By Davidmalley from Sacramento
Music Background: Intermediateguitar

Pedal is amazing. Well built, doesn't move around, accurate, adjustable. You can get at the gear for maintenance and optimization for perfect operation over time.
It arrived quickly, perfectly packed and always enjoy the sweets. Needed some technical help to determine a source of noise in my system. Tech support at Sweetwater was very helpful. I learned quite a bit about placement in the pedal chain, operational characteristics and general operation that helped me understand my pedal and it's versatility. It's a great aspect of Sweetwater. Great product selection and great knowledgeable employees who can recommend during purchase decisions, advise during install and first use and diagnose as problems arise.
Nice addition to my pedal board.

Five stars at least.

By Kenneth W. from Fort Worth, TX

Upgrading from "Another pedal" that Sweetwater also carry's, so I won't name it, but I highly recommend the Mission Engineering Inc VM-Pro. Very wide sweep and no issues with pedal drop that I had with my old pedal with the volume not remaining fully down. Very smooth action, seems to disappear under foot. Highly recommended.

Awesome companies - Sweetwater and Mission Engineering!

By Sweetwater Customer

Another great Mission Engineering product - rock solid build, smooth operation, great looks and built in the USA! Additionally, the team at Mission Engineering is remarkably knowledgeable and professional; Joe and James really know their stuff!
On the Sweetwater side ... another consistently positive experience. Great deals, and my sales engineer - Austin - is on top of everything all along the way. Professional, knowledgeable and willing to help you in any way possible.

VM-Pro Buffered Volume Pedal

By Al C. from Shores of the Mississippi River
Music Background: Recording Engineer Musical Hobbyist

This is a Pedal for Volume that has other settings and can be used with stomp boxes or straight as a Volume Pedal. It is a million cycle Pedal so you can move your foot's heel and toe many, many, many, many, and even more times and it will still work. Using the default settings of the Pedal I could hook it up in 30 seconds, 15 if I really work at it. Sweetwater delivered this Pedal so fast, it was here a day early and they must be using Big Bird to drop off Packages at your place in no time flat. I did not see a drone, Big Bird, or a truck leave it off, so give Big Bird a hug next time the Bird swoops on down to deliver another package from your place - Sweetwater. Thanks to Alex Morales once again, for a painless journey into placing a buy.
Oh, yes, I am not against driving in traffic to a local store and debating if the sales person knows anything with anything I really want or if they can order it and a buyer can wait for it whatever. But like I said the package arrived so quickly from Sweetwater that I did not have to think about it or spend any time on that aspect.
Other than that, the Pedal can use a Power Supply like Roland Boss PSA-120S or a Hose Power Supply with the standard 2.1mm negative center pin or a 9V battery.
I compare it to the Fender EXP-1 Pedal for the Fender Mustang Amp but then that may take more time then you have attention span for as soon as I go through the downloaded manual to hook that pedal up or use Fender Fuse software now knowing that I will need IE on my computer to even do that (I had taken it off).
I have another amp also to use with this VM-Pro Pedal for volume and stomp boxes with a guitar and that will be that.
The Mission Engineering VM-Pro Buffered Volume Pedal works greatly.

If you currently use a VPJR...UPGRADE TO THIS PEDAL!

By Tyler R. from murrieta, CA
Music Background: Performing/Recording Musician

Amazing all around. Comfortable to use. Amazing sweep. No tone loss. High quality parts. Reliable. THE ONLY COMPLAINT I have is the "feet"...they didn't sit well on my pedal board so I removed them and had to counter sink the back plate to let the screws sit flush...would have been nice if they supplied the correct screws/countersunk the back plate in the event that the used didn't want the feet. Buuuut I can't complain. Love this pedal and it was worth every penny.

Best Volume Pedal Ever!

By Tony M. from Chesterfield MI
Music Background: Worship Pastor, guitarist, live sound engineer.

I love this pedal! If you want a clean volume pedal, this is the one to look at. I've had this pedal for a few months and it does everything that I would ever want a volume pedal to do. This is designed for both active and passive guitars. The sparkle switch takes away some of the darker tones at lower volumes you would typically get and its super valuable to be able to have the power in between 9 and 18 volts. This lets you fill any empty spots on your power block, not constricting you! Perfect!

Mission VM-Pro Volume

By Tony from Chesterfield, MI
Music Background: Worship Leader, musician

This is an amazing product! There is no scenario I can think of that this thing won't tackle. This volume pedal feels great, sounds great and has all the features I would ever need. I even love the power option between 9-18V which helps with juggling isolated power. I do think this pedal is a little salty for a volume pedal, but If you can cough up the change, you will be satisfied!
