Outstanding Collection
I'm kinda surprised by the low reviews here. First off, if you want every instrument to be extremely high quality of course you need to be looking at standalone instruments. You'll never get the same quality from a collection, especially at this price. That should be obvious. I have this, the kontakt factory library, and eastwest goliath. This is by far the best option. It is my go-to for every instrument I use. If, for some reason, I need a higher-quality option I will use some other standalone vst that likely cost more than double what this is just for the one instrument. If you want a great collection I cannot recommend this enough. So many great sounding options and random instruments you may not have covered elsewhere.
you cant have it all!!
try the saxes... with a few tweaks it sounds good in a mix.... drums sounds are also nice. electric guitars are weak and synthy! this would be a lot better rated like a 5 star if they would have priced it at around 250usd, but none the less i have it and paid in full price and im happy with it.
Sounds Good, but Pro Tools users beware
Sounds great, but I am experiencing performance issues on my Mac G5 1.8D with 3GB RAM, which is well above the manufacturer's recommended system requirements.
Any time I have the Kontakt player (which drives VI.ONE and is included with this package), it takes about 5-10 seconds to save and frequently stalls out for 5-10 seconds while shuttling or editing. Kind of annoying. Since I basically only use MIDI for arrangements, I can ease the pain by printing my finished MIDI tracks to audio and inactivating the virtual instrument. If you plan to use a lot of MIDI, however, you probably need to have a pretty screamin' computer.
For comparison, I use other virtual instruments (DFHS, EZDrummer, XPand, iDrum) and do not have this problem.
nothing special..
I only paid $99 for this, and I still feel like I got ripped off. This Library is just a group of generic patches (think general midi). Don't waste your money, put it towards a decent product.
