Solo Voices for Your Orchestrations
The Vienna Solo Voices (Standard Library) includes four female voices (coloratura soprano, soprano, mezzo soprano, and alto) and three male voices (tenor, baritone, and bass). Sampling the human voice and making it "playable" as a virtual instrument is a distinct challenge. That's why VSL carefully chose the best singers and paid particular attention to homogenous full-register timbre in the recording process. Many hours were spent performing and chasing perfection regarding tone, intonation, and consistency. Every recorded note is a testimonial to the professionalism of these distinguished vocalists.

The most expressive instrument
Vienna Solo Voices, for the first time, gives you authentic, expressive realization of polyphonic vocal repertoire — in both a cappella performance and in various combinations. These recordings include staccatos, sustains, and legato performances of vowels in four dynamic levels, as well as various staccato syllable repetitions, sforzatos, crescendos, diminuendos, trills, and glissandos. We're thrilled by the orchestration possibilities presented by VSL's Vienna Solo Voices. We think you will be, too.

A superior way to orchestrate
The Vienna Instruments series expands on the previous libraries and offers embedded intelligent Performance Algorithms in an easy-to-use plug-in that lets you orchestrate with an inconceivably vast array of samples. For the first time, hundreds of articulations can be combined in one preset and on a single MIDI track. Vienna's proprietary Performance Detection analyzes intervals, repeated notes, patterns, and even speed in real time and automatically summons the appropriate articulation or nuance.
First-call musicians, first-class samples
At Sweetwater, we hold the Vienna Symphonic Library in high regard; that's because we're picky about our orchestral samples. It all starts with the musicians. Since VSL's inception, first-call musicians have been providing the sound and character of these instruments as soloists and ensemble leaders. This approach is largely responsible for the impressive sonic authority and authenticity we have come to expect from VSL virtual instruments.
