You can help control drum bleed in a stage, studio, or worship environment using the VDS-4-K drum shield by Sound Shields. This 4-piece drum shield is made from interlocking 5-1/2 feet x 2 feet panels of clear acrylic to deflect mid- to high-frequency drum content (snare drums, cymbals, etc) in a performance setting. This helps diffuse drum sounds throughout a room so they’re less direct when they meet your listeners’ ears. The VDS-4-K can also dramatically improve isolation when used to keep drum sounds from entering vocal microphones in front of the kit, resulting in a cleaner mix overall. Each panel of the Sound Shields VDS-4-K drum shield features “mouse holes” for running mic cables through and giving clearance to stand legs. We’ve found that Sound Shields drum shields also come in handy for taming loud guitar amps and dispersing horn sections onstage or up on the platform. Does the trick
Our drummer, God love him, is a good guy but a real thrasher. He plays loud. For that reason, we went to all virtual instruments on stage including drums. After a long period of putting up with that, our drummer made the plea to go back to real drums. I stand right in front of him when we play,so this affected me the most. I said in order to do it, we needed a partition.
This filled the bill - easy to set up, rigid enough to stand on its own. I was worried about it falling down, but it didn't. It was solid, stable and most importantly, my ears weren't ringing after the gig, and I could keep my own volume down. Worth every penny.
Does what I had hoped!
I purchased this drum shield to cut down on the cymbals bleeding into the vocal mics in my small recording studio. It has worked exactly as I hoped. In addition, it arrived in perfect condition and was very easy to set up.
