Ibanez UV70P Get one IF you can!
Not sure what "the internet & Youtubers" are talking about who say this guitar is anything less than the original.
Maybe it's hit or miss with good ones and bad.
I DEFINITELY got a good one! After professionally setting it up and putting it thru the paces, it plays the same as Steve Vai's guitar. Yes my apologies Mr. Vai! Remember when your Universe was shipped to wrong location…. I could not help it, I HAD to play it.
100% Satisfied
I had been looking to buy the Ibanez UV70P for quite sometime and found this reissue Premium edition through Sweetwater. After successfully applying for the credit line I was able to secure 36 month, no interest financing. Fantastic and flexible way to buy a higher end guitar like this. Arrived in 1 day with FREE shipping and played like butter right out of the box. The 55 point inspection and follow up with great customer service was HUGE plus when buying a brand new instrument as well. Can't recommend these guys enough!
Best Ibanez Guitar Ever!!!
I own 21 guitars 7 of them are Ibanez (4 are RGs). This is by far the absolute best Ibanez, dare I say best guitar I ever played!! Right out of the case (and it comes with a beautiful custom case with an embroidered logo, the first I've seen) it plays absolutely amazing! Super low and fast action, smooth fretboard, and completely comfortable radius (you can hardly tell your playing a 7-string). Even my other, older Ibanez 7-string doesn't compare to this baby! I played one of the original universe guitars from '94 in this exact color scheme (John Petrucci, DT music video from the mid 90s). I wanted a used one that was in my local ship for longest time. Even quite a bit worn the guy wanted $1300 for it. I've lingered the Internet for years hoping for one to come out. When I saw this at NAMM, I was ecstatic!! They were on back order with Sweetwater and my Sales Engineer, Randy, remembered long after we spoke when they finally came in and alerted me that there was one left unclaimed. Having just liquidated all my cash due to divorce, I was hesitant, but I didn't wanna let the chance slip away again! Thank God for the Sweetwater card and no-interest financing!! You only live once! And I'm so glad I did it!!!
Turned out better than I thought
Hello sweet water and steve vai. I'm here to do a second review because my other review was alittle harsh. But guys I had this guitar for two years now since my last review and this ibanez has turned into a great instrument. Now I'm getting a sustainiac for it and I'm very excited. Thank you steve vai and sweetwater for this wonderful instrument. I'm proud to be with ibanez. Thanks guys
Not quite sure what to say about this
When I got this guitar it wasn't set up properly, probably the reason why they sent an extra spring along with it. Its playability is not as smooth as you think. Not to mention how the guitar is made. Whammy bar always hits the pickup selector so that's another down side. Guitar sounds great though. Pickups scream. Looks like I'm stuck with it now haha. An Ibanez prestige is most likely better considering this is only a tribute guitar. Not sure if I would recommend. I'm sorry.
