TASCAM US-2x2HR USB Audio Interface Reviews
The TASCAM US-2x2HR USB-C audio/MIDI interface (PC/Mac/iOS) brings rich 192kHz audio, dependable 5-pin MIDI in/out, and super-low-latency tracking and monitoring to your home or mobile studio setup. The US-2x2HR's two onboard Ultra-HDDA mic preamps give you 57dB of clean gain to capably drive most dynamic mics and onboard +48V phantom power to support your studio condensers. Each preamp features a combo TRS/TS 1/4-inch input with Mic/Line-Inst selector to simultaneously capture a rhythm guitar, bass, or keyboard as you track vocals. You also get MIDI in and out for interfacing with your keyboard controllers and drum machines. Perhaps best of all, the TASCAM US-2x2HR delivers all of these features over USB bus power — just a single USB-C cable (included) from your laptop to your interface is all you need for power and connectivity. As for monitoring, the TASCAM US-2x2HR gives a 1/4-inch headphone out and stereo 1/4-inch line outs, each with independent level controls so you can mix projects on loudspeakers or your favorite studio cans. If you're looking for a USB-C interface that's equally at home in the studio or on the road, the TASCAM US-2x2HR USB-C audio/MIDI interface from Sweetwater is worth a look.

Best audio interface
I've had this tascam for about 3 years and I stream weakly. Once I learned how to integrate this with OBS, I have never had issues with it or my stream!
My Take
I just upgraded to the new MacBook Pro for music production. To my surprise it only has 2 usb c ports. Go figure but hey, this interface says usb c. Wrong, it usb c to usb A so I had to buy my own cable. Then this unit also doesn't come with a power supply. It has a clean preamp to which is great. However the preamp is a little weak. Using my MacBook pro as the only power supply, I have to turn the preamp knob to at least 3 o'clock for a good input signal on vocals using phantom power. Using my Shure mic it has to be around 5 o'clock. It's easy to use. I like it.
Great sounding device hampered by unreliable Windows 10 drivers
Overall, the unit sounds great and is a good value at it's price point. Feels well built with quality knobs and jacks.
Minor complaint: Knobs are small and grouped a little too close together making adjustment awkward depending how you have to position the device on your workspace.
Major complaint: Device randomly drops audio output form computer. My unit needs to pull double duty as I am working from home, and it has a terrible habit of dropping audio output as I am joining a call. I can hear myself, and the other callers can hear me, but I can't any audio from them-- or audio from any other programs on my computer. This is not just a Zoom or Teams problem. When the audio drops, its ALL audio from the computer. I used a Scarlet Solo for 11 months and never once had this problem, so I am pointing the finger at the Tascam unit and/or their drivers.
A similar problem flares up sometimes while working in Audacity, requiring me to unplug/re-connect the device or fiddle with settings in the computer to get the audio back.
