Kala Wanderer U-Bass Acoustic-Electric Bass Guitar - Natural Satin Reviews
From Kala comes this stripped-down U-Bass aptly named the Wanderer for its compact size. This incredibly affordable acoustic-electric bass delivers the same booming low-end sound as other U-Basses in this popular line. The Wanderer features an all-mahogany body that delivers a rich, full low tone that has become legendary for sounding very much like a full upright double bass. And since this little uke-style instrument uses traditional bass tuning, there's virtually no learning curve if you're used to a standard bass guitar. It also comes with a UK-500B piezo pickup for stellar amplified tone and fits easily into overhead compartments on planes, trains, or the back seat of your car — a feature bassists here at Sweetwater really love.

Nice Size and Sound
I am not a bass player per se. Keyboard is my main instrument but since I can read music, I have picked up several instruments to augment what I do with VST's and electronic music. Having a little instrument with such a big sound fits my limited space well. I'm using it with a Hartke HD15 practice amp. Perfect match for my needs.
Great little bass
The Kala U-bass is a great little bass. It is perfect for practicing alone, on the bus or in the dressing room. A big sound for such a little instrument. When you plug it in, it has an incredible sound. If you have a young one playing or wanting to learn, it is perfect for smaller hands. I use it on stage more as a novelty, but I highly recommend it if you need something small.
quality instrument
Have had time to play this instrument in practice and in a gig. Enjoyed the small size as compared to a full sized bass. Sound through a Fender Rumble amp is good.
The negative: the case is too small. It's hard to put the instrument back in the case without knocking it out of tune. Also the one zip pocket is way to tight to hold anything. I carry a strap, a cord and a Snark tuner. All have to fit inside the case with the bass, they will not go in the zip pocket. Maybe the company could enlarge the case somewhat.
Yes, I would recommend this U-Bass to others. Sweetwater seems to be a very good company to work with. The order arrived in a timely manner and well-padded box.
KALA WANDERER U BASS
I got his little bass on a Friday, and played it that night and Saturday. I had to take the trust rod wrench , and a just the trust rod a little know big deal very easy. The trust rod wrench comes with it cool and a nice little padded gig bag. It took just a little bit to get use to the smaller frets and the polymer are what ever strings. But know big deal at all, anyone can do it. The pickup in sounds great, a deep sound almost like a stand up bass. At home I play it trough a Markbass Jeff Berlin 151p combo, at church a SWR 350 head and a SWR 410 cab, sounded great on both. Yes had it 2 days and instead of my Lakland , i played it Sunday for worship worked great. People were amazed the sound was coming from such a small bass. I am very pleased with this little jewel, I bought to do little gigs with my pastor also a guitarist. I am very pleased with it, I am very pleased with the service and products I get from Sweetwater Music. I buy everything from them basses to bass strings and guitar strings .
