So easy to set up and use.. I can load all my UA plugins as needed without overloading.. this is the one to get.. go with the OCTO... this is nice big heavy piece of hardware.

When I ordered this I was just looking for more "horse power". So delighted to instantly notice the better sounding Plugins that are hosted on the accelerator. So pleased in fact I purchased a big library of plug ins. (So yourself a favor and consider the offers they present when installing the unit). I am considering cancelling other plug in subscriptions and eventually adding another accelerator.

The installation was super easy after downloading the drivers. It works flawlessly on windows 10. You can run many UAD plugins without drooping off. It's a very useful piece of gear for a hybrid or in the box set up. Highly recommended.

To truly have control over every aspect of your mix, you need the right tools and you need processing power. This unit has both! Even my large mixes with 40 tracks are covered. Now I have upgraded to two of these units to mix sound for film. Oh-my-goodness! 96 tracks and counting and it's still not maxed out. This truly is the one for your ProTools mixes. The perfect union, exquisite plugins and major league processing ... Enough said!

Whether you're a UAD veteran using unison preamps, or looking for more DSP, or you've heard all the hype and are ready to jump in the deep end of the pool and use as a stand alone, this is the unit to get. My mixes are now throttled wide open. No more worrying about DSP load, and I can easily take it with me to other sessions so I can mix with my Octo anywhere. I've run upwards of 30 UAD plugins simultaneously and only hit 50% DSP since I got this. I made the mistake of ordering this for my Mac, just to save anyone else the headache, this is PC only
(even if you have USB3, UA hasn't made drivers for this)

Plugins sound great (took off half a star because it didn't come with a cable to plug it in, seems like a small oversight.)

I"m a New UAD user. I"ve been using Waves for years after using UAD plugins it free"s up so much DSP and it sound so much better then any other plug brand I"ve used but I must admit Waves and UAD together is magical. But Got darn are those plugin prices high... Geesh!!!!

The UAD-2 Satellite USB OCTO Core is everything that you have come to expect from Universal Audio. Tons of processing power and the best plugins in the market. 5 Stars..

I've been a Pro Tools user of UA stuff for a few years and have been blown away at the sound. I was hesitant to use an external device but all of my PCIe slots were used. I took a chance and am not disappointed. Now I need more USB 3 connectors! I have 2 Quad PCIe boards and this octo USB 3 device and they work together flawlessly. I'm a software engineer by trade and UAD should be congratulated!
