Instant feedback on mixes!
I've had a lot of experience with quite a few monitors options and these absolutely impressed me. I heard them live at a Focal demo ant GearFest after demoing many other manufacturers array of monitors and knew I had to hear them in my studio. Now I haven't tried every high end monitoring option on the market, but I have not heard anything as detailed and telling as these monitors. Only takes a few seconds of listening to know whether a mix will hold up to today's standards and the focus mode eliminates the need for a second set of frequency limited monitors to mix for phones/laptops and bass lacking playback. That's a big plus too since these are large monitors that take up a lot of space in the room. The foot switch option for Focus mode makes it instant gratification/feedback when checking your mixes for frequency limited applications. Definitely a big investment but one I don't believe you'll regret!
Very Impressed
I had a set of KRK Rokit 6 that served me well for a really long time, but last year I decided my experience and skill set level demanded an upgrade. I spend the better part of 8 months shopping around and auditioning different monitors. I considered Barefoot, HEDD, EVE Audio, Neumann, ATC, and Dynaudio. Honestly, they were all great in their own way, but I finally settled for the Focal Twin 6. These were not even on my shortlist, but on a visit to a shop that shall remain nameless, I got to audition 4 of the 6 on my shortlist, and the sales guy added the Focals to the mix. I was impressed by the clarity and balance. Even my wife, who happened to be with me, immediately said the Focals sounded the best. After living with these for about six months now, what I love best is that the mixes transfer so well to all my other systems (car, living room, earbuds). Before, I had to audition in each system and make notes to adjust the mix as I went along. No more! now when I get the final mix on the Focals, it sounds great everywhere else as well, which has significantly cut down on my process time. I can't account for the other reviewer's experience, maybe it is because we have different rooms and treatments, but I am beyond pleased with these monitors.
Not happy
