I forgot to mention that before I purchased the JBL Tour Pro 3, a review on YouTube mentioned that the bud s were much better sounding with the supplied foam tips. The Buds arrive brand new, sealed in the box but did not have foam tips, only silicone. I ordered foam tips on line, but the foam tips made things worse. The foam I purchased was thick but like an air filter, allowing outside ambient sound to pass through and the sound of the buds (especially bass) to leak out. The sound and noise cancelling was worse. No fix there. Comparatively, the Sony WF-SP700N have a long, thick silicon plug that works like ear plugs and blocks out noise even without the buds being turned on.

I'm started off by giving these a 2 star since they are actually working, but have poor sound quality. It's somewhat hard to describe so I'll start by saying that these are slightly better than a 9V transistor radio. No warmth, body, lower mids or bass. Brittle sounding. While I was writing this review, I turned on some acoustic 12 string guitar music. Some of my favorite guitar music but I turned it off. Terrible sounding buds. Overly bright, shrill, no body or warmth. So I change my rating to 1 star. The buds would be fine for audio books, or online tutorials etc. but not for serious listening. I have always used Sony buds, all the way back before wireless, I used wired Sony buds. My last purchased was the Sony WF-SP700N wireless buds. I purchased these buds in 2018 and I am still using them today. I prefer the WF-SP700N over the JBL Tour Pro 3. In my opinion the sound quality and fit of the Sony is superior the JBL. I regret buying the JBL as I will probably never use them. I'll be checking for sale prices and replacing these with Sony buds.
