Nose dive worth it

By Sweetwater Customer from CO

This guitar is ridiculously top-heavy, thanks in part to the F hole cut out. However, I have an Epiphone and a Stratocaster that are each more expensive than this guitar. The squire plays better than both of them. I've got some weird string buzz, so it definitely needs some work. But the action is like butter. And it looks different than most guitars. It's my new favorite and I named her Betty Cooper.

Betty Cooper: practical, inexpensive, Americana

By Archie from Grand Junction, CO

I can't believe how well this guitar plays out of the box. It plays as well as a my 3 year old strat and my Les Paul (both much more expensive). Smooth action and a nice feeling neck. The pickups don't have the beef my Ephiphone has, nor the strat, but it's a great electric for the price. The one major complaint I have is with the F-hole. I love the look, but with that hollowed out, the guitar has horrible top end dive. I put it on with a strap when I got home, and I was the headstock dropped straight to the ground. I have dibs on the name Betty Cooper for this guitar.

Great Guitar and a Fantastic Value

By Jonathan C. from Oak Hill, WV

This is a fantastic guitar. The neck is extremely comfortable and the quality is surprisingly good. The fretwork was especially great. The stock pickups sound good, and especially good for this price point. I've owned over fifteen Telecasters in the last 20+ years, and my main guitar is a MIM 1992 Fender Standard Telecaster. The body wood (poplar) and pickups (ceramic magnets) are the same in these Squier Affinity guitars as it was in MIM Fenders in the 90s and early 2000s. It is a testament to how great affordable guitars in general and this one in particular are today. If you're a beginner looking for your first guitar or an experienced player wanting to try a Thinline Tele without breaking the bank, this is definitely a guitar you should seriously consider.
