Squier Sonic Telecaster Electric Guitar - Butterscotch Blonde
Squier Sonic Telecaster Electric Guitar - Butterscotch Blonde Reviews
The Squier Sonic Telecaster arms beginners with a solid instrument that retains the sound and style of the world’s first solidbody electric guitar. Ceramic Tele Single-Coil pickups at the neck and bridge unleash vintage Tele twang, while a 3-way pickup selector and master tone/volume controls introduce an impressive tonal palette that’s ready to sculpt the mood of any song or lesson. A poplar body keeps things lightweight, while the traditional “C”-shaped neck affords all players a comfortably classic grip for practicing and performing. The die-cast tuners, Telecaster Bridge, and control knobs all come finished in chrome for that legendary Telecaster visual shimmer, too. Plus, an assortment of iconic finishes gives every 6-string pupil a proper Tele aesthetic. If you’re looking for an exciting first electric guitar, there’s no better springboard than the Squier Sonic Telecaster.
Great guitar
I have the AM Pro II butterscotch black guard on my wall at home. Aside from looking cool, I wanted a work guitar and after reading reviews, I read about this and decided to take the plunge. Similar looks, good feel. Neck is great, frets are perfect, switched out the tuners for lockers that I had on hand. Action was perfect out of the box. It does feel and look cheaper than my AP2, but at a 10th of the price...it's exceptional. This is my first squier. I thought it would be a horror show, but I think the overseas Fenders are better than they were in the past. From a guy who owns the Am Pro 2, and a couple Mexican Player 2s, these are a good deal for the $.
What do you expect for $?
Not much but I was pleasantly surprised by the tone from the PUs we're supposed to hate; ceramic single coils. I found them to be quite telly like.
I spent maybe two or three hours dealing with Fred sprout, a leveling crown, etc. if you're not experienced at guitar set up, please have it done by a professional and yes, you just paid $ for Guitar and now you got a chunk of money to make it playable. It's not really playable until you have the work done. Just accept that it is the price of entry entry.
Thumbs up
Bought this for my nephew , he's a beginner but this gave him a sense of having a real guitar that he could grow with as he got better. Well the build quality is really good , much better than you'd except at this price range.
It played really well straight out of the box , had a bit of weight to it which I like. … you can throw it around and not worry about anything. It's built like a tank and pick ups aren't that bad either. Bring it outside with the positive grid amp and it's so much fun Great buy!
Great guitar for learning
A friend told me that an electric would be easier for me to learn on than my Martin acoustic. He was right. The slimmer neck, lower action and shorter fret distance have flattened my learning curve. I couldn't decide between the Squire Affinity Telecaster and the Squire Sonic Telecaster, so I asked Sales Engineer Rob Heck. I explained my difficulties with fretting and he recommended the Sonic. Thank you, Rob. I couldn't be happier. This guitar is a lot of fun to play.
