Fender Player Telecaster - Polar White with Pau Ferro Fingerboard Reviews

Solidbody Electric Guitar with Alder Body, Maple Neck, Pau Ferro Fingerboard, and 2 Single-coil Pickups - Polar White

Some folks think Teles are a twanging one-trick pony. They obviously never played a Fender Player Series Telecaster. Loaded with dual Alnico V single-coil pickups, this axe delivers everything from country twang to jazzy articulation to high-octane rock 'n' roll — and anything in between. A modern C-shaped neck and 22-fret, 9.5"-radius fingerboard give you a decidedly contemporary feel with fast action and comfortable playability. You also get a synthetic bone nut, 6-saddle string-through bridge, and Fender standard sealed tuners. If you appreciate classic Tele tone but crave a more modern flavor, pick up the Player Series Telecaster. But be warned — you won't want to put it down.

QC from Fender is back finally!

By Joshua Tanberg from Waterloo, IA on November 16, 2022

After being disappointed by 2020 purchase of a MIM telecaster (Not from Sweetwater I might add), I'm happy to say that this one came without fret sprout, without a finish crack in the neck pocket, and PERFECTLY intonated! Thanks to my man Brian Hughes for the quick response getting me this awesome Tele!

Great guitar

By Sweetwater Customer on March 4, 2021 Music Background: Drummer for 1 year, guitarist for 1 year.

This guitar sounds very near to the (...higher price point) American made teles. It had no issues out of the box, but very knob turns great, no sharp fret ends, everything %100 functional. You can get some great sounds from this guitar, and at $... it's unbeatable. The white looks great, especially with the pau ferro fret-board. But I must say, it looks better in person than in the pictures, they did it a great disservice in these photos. 10/10 would recommend.

Sweet

Oh, it’s on now. My 1st good guitar. An upgrade from my Squier Strat (which I love) but the fit and finish on this guitar is superb. I’ve been playing for about a year and practicing everyday so I definitely notice the quality. A lot of good tones through my Boss Katana 50 and GT1 pedal. This Player Series has a very wide tonal range and the pickups are hot! But the tone knob is key on this Tele to dial in great sound. C shape neck is smooth and easy to play. It’s a beautiful guitar. I love the way the Pau Ferro fretboard looks with the white. So much fun to play. Blues, Country, Rock. Oh, it’s on now!

Just received

By Larry Gordon from Muskegon, MI on October 6, 2019

Received a Players Polar White with Pau Ferro finger board purchased online Wednesday, played first event on Sunday morning. I am really impressed, sounds great, plays great, also got some compliments and questions to where I got this new guitar. Sounds were great, and was able to easily switch between sharp high tones and smooth soft output. excellent!!!

Truly grateful to Fender for getting this one right. It's a wonderful, well-made guitar at a reasonable price, which is a rarity in the left-handed world. The neck is comfortable and true, and the stock pickups deliver on the classic Tele sound*. Highly recommended; I actually prefer this to my 60th Anniversary American Standard.
*I use a VOX AC15C1 and a modified Fender Champion 600; sounds great through both.

Unbeatable at the price point.

For the money, you can't beat it, period. It plays great and it's a great starting point for a real deal Fender tele.
Cons: Only one really, the fretboard edge (the wood) is way sharper than I'm used to. I usually play high end guitars and I knew the fretboard edges on my other guitars are rolled, I just didn't realize how big of a difference it made. For me, that's an easy fix. I took the neck off and rolled the edges and reinstalled adding my strings of choice. Easy.

Pros: The fretwork is really good. The pickups are more on the modern tele side which suits my playing better. The bridge has block saddles making it ultra comfortable to anchor my hand. And finally It is built like a tank.

As a final note, I know other people love their sweetwater sales reps, but I'm telling you Aaron Hoff is better than all of them. Literally the best. Always a pleasure working with him and If I need anything in the future and Sweetwater sells it, I will be buying it from Aaron.
