Squier Classic Vibe Baritone Custom Telecaster - 3-color Sunburst Reviews

Solid Body Electric Guitar with Nyatoh Body, Maple Neck, Indian Laurel Fingerboard, and 2 Single-coil Pickups - Sunburst

At Sweetwater, we love the chance to explore the reimagined takes on classic instruments that define our musical odyssey. Squier has taken their ubiquitous Telecaster and done exactly that. The 27-inch baritone maple neck lets you combine the historic look of an iconic Fender design with heavy-hitting riffs and down-tuned licks. Presented with a trademark 3-color sunburst finish, nickel hardware, and '60s-inspired headstock details, this vintage design is the perfect contrast to the grumbling lows of the Fender-designed alnico single-coil pickups. The “C”-shaped neck is accompanied by a 9.5-inch Indian laurel fingerboard, boasting 22 narrow-tall frets for smooth, accessible play and offering a swift transition to the tenacious tuning of a baritone axe. Make no mistake, the Squier Classic Vibe Baritone Custom Telecaster pulls no punches with its bevy of bass.

Baritone at a Huge Value

By Drew from Fairfield, OH on September 8, 2022 Music Background: Worship Leader

Squier knocked it out of the park again with this one, great sounding, feeling and looking guitar at a very attainable price point. It's great way to experiment with or to add a baritone to your collection without spending a fortune on something you may find you don't use much or don't end up liking. Not much of a learning curve beyond transposing and getting familiar with where your notes are on the fretboard. It has such a big, full and rich sound while also bringing that classic tele twang when you need it. I'm having a great time incorporating into the spaces I play in and I'm finding I get a lot of use out of it.

Build Quality and Sound/Best So Far In Squierville

By Sonic Traveler from Nearest Soul Waystation on August 7, 2022

I have had mixed results from various tiers of Squire Guitars. One oddity I have found is that inside of one model and one manufacturing year, there can be worlds of differences. I can say that this Squier is built like a tank and the fact that you can(depending on availabilty) actually pick out the exact instrument that you will be getting makes this experience leagues better than any other online music retail online experience.
Back to the instrument... The binding is antique white. The colors are not done justice by the stock photographs and this is by no means a criticism of Sweetwater's photos. The stock photos are great, but when I opened the hardshell case that I also bought, I was stunned at the vibrance and sheer beauty of this Guitar. The Reds are sandwiched between Orange and Gold hues on one side, with bright Red going into dark BBQ Red and Red/Brown overtones on the other side, going into Black, and this is on the front and the back. The Guitar is perfectly balanced. The Pickups are exact in their "Telecaster Overtones" The selector switch, knobs, input jack are all very solid. One can hardly expect top of the line hardware on a Guitar costing less than $500.00. The saddles are about C+ to B- whereas the Tuning Pegs are about a B to a B+. I had mine setup by the Sweetwater Guitar/Setup/Tech/Luthier team and I can not recommend enough in you doing the same, because it comes to you flawless in every way and ready to gig and record with. I have had 3 setups by Sweetwater and this option when coupled with their industry leading customer service makes Sweetwater leagues better than any other online retailer.
This Guitar is a monster and it is by no means a one trick pony. I have done Jump Blues and Swing stuff, Surf stuff, Flamenco stuff, and of course the most important of them all, Original stuff and this Squier Baritone Telecaster shines in every Idium and in every Genre I have thrown at it. It also does well with Distortion and Industrial type of sounds and Classic Rock sounds and I say "it" because it is a living beast of an instrument.
I have a Bullet Telecaster that I love, a Classic Vibe 60s 3 toned sunburst Stratocaster, a 60s Classic Vibe Jazzmaster, a Squier Affinity HSS Blackburst Stratocaster... and this Squier Classic Vibe Baritone Custom Telecaster blows them all away as far as quality of materials and craftsmanship. I must give a shout out to my sales rep Jeff Rohlfing who never ceases to amaze me with his depth of knowledge and more importantly his care to every detail of my musical vision. No sales rep from Guitar Center, Musicians Friend, Sam Ash or any other Music Retailer has or can come close to the kind of customer service I have always received from Jeff. Whether it was a 3 way pedal for my Digital Piano, a power adapter or Electric Guitars, Sound Reinforcement or Recording Equipment, Jeff never cared less because the item cost less, he is always right there with patience and knowledge and customer care. I have over 45 years of professional musical experience and about Sweetwater in general, Nobody online comes close to what these folks are doing, period! I have attached a few photos of the Baritone Guitar I just received. Thank you Sweetwater!
