Excellent online guitar buying experience

By Sweetwater Customer on March 3, 2024

Was nervous to buy a guitar online unseen and unplayed, but the guitar was set up nicely right out of the box. It arrived quickly and well-packaged. No regrets buying through Sweetwater.

Much more than expected!

By Joe Washum from Conway, AR on February 20, 2024

I have been looking for a Telecaster Deluxe for some time now. A while back I purchased a more expensive version which ended up with quite a number of issues and had to be sent back. Ordering this my expectations where not high. However upon arrival I was amazed at the quality, especially for the price.

The one I received is a stellar example of how a much more expensive guitar should be out of the box. It has a bone nut which is cut correctly and smooth. There were no high frets and all the frets were polished to very high degree. There is no fret sprout and the edges are rounded to the point I doubt it will ever happen. Finally the relief on the neck was correct as well.

I did lower the action on the guitar once I got it because it was high for my taste but that is just personal preference.

The pickups sound really good as well. The bridge is not as bright as a normal telecaster but there is no hum due to the wide range humbucker. While not actual CuNiFe wide range they sill sound very nice and will work well for classic rock, country or P&W. I found the neck pickup to be warm while still retaining some clarity as well.

Bridge is nice but could be better, for the price it's solid and works so no need to replace or upgrade at this time. The tuners, while not period correct, work great and that is what really matters.

Shout out to my Rep Jordan for getting it here quickly, I'm very happy with this purchase and couldn't have asked for more at the price... it's better than many guitars costing 4 times the price or more.

If you are looking for a Telecaster Deluxe, give this a try, you won't be disappointed!

Squiers have gone a long way

By Kokonut 87 on August 14, 2020

I've had a few Squiers throughout the years. Most of them I end up selling due to it not matching my needs. A quick visit to a local music store and tried these out and I knew I gotta have one. Didn't buy it from them because I always go through Sweetwater with big purchases. Their 55 point inspection is no joke. This guitar showed up properly set and with a little tuning, ready to play!

This is by far the first Squier or anything made by Fender that I didn't even think about replacing the pickups. These ones sounds so good and for a fraction of the cost of the Vintera series. I always loved the Tele shape but always look for a fatter sound. The Wide Range have that with a little brightness to it. Look up video reviews online and you'll hear it.

It's a bit heavier (8 lbs +) but I like it that way. The belly cut makes it so comfortable to play. I removed some of the gloss from the neck to give it a satin feel.

These aren't the Squiers from yesteryears that are definitely cheap. Make sure you get it from Sweetwater. You won't be disappointed. Thanks to Nate Kauffman for answering all my questions and tending to my orders! You guys have a customer for life.

You will love this guitar

By Sweetwater Customer on June 27, 2020

I bought one a couple of months ago and can't put it down. The wide range pickups create such a BIG sound that I sold my EPI 335 and don't miss it. The Body carve makes a big difference in the comfort as well. I have a traditional Tele that I love, but I was pleasantly surprised what a difference that cut makes.
I also own a Baja Tele, Player Strat , J Mascis Jazzmaster, and a P-bass. If you're into Fender at all, you'll love this guitar.

Fantastic

By Alex on September 24, 2019 Music Background: Recreational Novice

Absolute killer guitar! I've been playing guitar for around 2 years now, and I am over the moon with this one. Solid feeling to it, it's a Telecaster, as it should be. The humbuckers are great in my opinion, they sound clear and get gritty when the amp is pushed. Upon receiving the guitar, I could not put it down. About an hour with it, I peeled off the plastic wrap on the pickguard and filed down the back of one of the knobs as it was catching slightly. Restrung with my gauge strings, tuners feel solid and hold tune well in my experience. All I could tell you about the neck is it feels moderately sized and the gloss is thick, which suits my tastes. Looks the part, it's one great guitar for one good price.

Amazing Guitar Telecaster Love

By James Miller from Clay, NY on July 3, 2019

Well it's been about a week since I received my New Squire Telecaster Deluxe. Well for starters it is an Amazing Guitar period. Not "An Amazing for a Squire" It's Amazing and will hold it's own in straight up comparisons. The action is very low, and the Fender Wide Range Pickups give you enormous tonal capabilities. Everything from Country Spank to Smooth Jazz and Classic Rock. Blues is mandatory on this Awesome Tone Machine. I can't stop playing it. I Simply Love it! I want to thank Sweetwater for everything this is my first time buying a guitar online and they made it fun and enjoyable. They have earned my business for life. A Legendary Great Guitar from an Amazing People Centric Organization is What it is All about. Thanks Nick and Sweetwater for everything.

Awsome Vintage Style Guitar, Affordable Price

By Isayah Krill from Ohio on January 2, 2024 Music Background: Guitarist

Bought this guitar in store about 6 months ago and still love it every day. Beautiful Vintage 70s sound for a Squier. Sadly only upset about the two chips and dings in the paint due to it being a demo model and everyone dropped it and messed with it. But still love the design and sound nun the less. Highly recommend checking it out and playing it for yourself.

Needed work but great budget guitar

By Jon Wilson from Albany, GA on January 3, 2021

Out of the box, this guitar had old strings and way too much relief in the neck. After tightening the truss rod, changing strings, and setting intonation, it is a total keeper and the low price certainly helps. The quality of fit and finish is pro. The pickups sound great and the electronics work well. They have a honking mid range focus. I wanted a Tele Deluxe bad and the Am Pro II was out of the budget at the moment so this guitar was a pleasant surprise. I am in no rush to do any mods or upgrades as it is completely usable as is. I knocked off one star due to the lack of proper me set up and old strings.

Classic Vibe Deluxe

By Melody from Marietta, Ga on July 10, 2021 Music Background: Daily player

There was a minor issue with the first telecaster deluxe I ordered. Thankfully, my sales rep Drew Foster got me over to the service department right away.

The service department was able to do a rush delivery at no cost to me which was a complete surprise to me so THANK YOU so much!

Then, the moment of truth. I opened my guitar and oooh is it beautiful. However, I was a bit disappointed in that there was no 55-point inspection card included (seriously). My 3 way switch was like about to fall out and while it came to me pretty well in tune, the strings look pretty bad as do the last few frets.

Overall, sound has much more texture to it than my Classic Vibe strat. I'll probably have to change the string tree and no doubt have it immediately restrung. I guess I just expected too much when I ordered this guitar (idk). It's a keeper though. And I can't thank my sales guy and Sweetwater enough for their patience. Their customer service is unparalleled by that other guitar place which is why I will continue to get my things from them.

As for you, if you're wanting one of these, I believe they are no doubt worth the money. I really like the neck. Feels a bit beefier to me than my strat necks. I love the gloss. Pickups sound amazing but be prepared to make some minor adjustments.

Great frame. Middling pickups.

By Patrick from Washington DC on October 3, 2020

Body, neck, and tuners are A+. The body contour is classic yet comfortable due to the belly cut, and these tend to be light for a tele. The neck is a bit thicker than Modern style but not excessively chunky, and frets and nut are beautifully done. It is a Strat style neck pocket. The tuners are surprisingly good, both looking and holding like real Klusons. No tuning stability issues. The saddles are an F, they are stamped Squier (twice each!) and are scratchy, but those are easily and cheaply upgraded. The control switch and knobs operate nicely and don't feel cheap. The pickups are the real disappointment: not terrible but they are neither blues nor rock nor tele, they just sit in a bland nowhere land. At this price point, they should be better. If you are a beginner, the pickups will tide you over until you decide to upgrade. The good news is that upgrading with a whole loaded pickguard is easier on this guitar than almost any type. So, buy this if you expect to mod the pickups.
