I've liked longer sticks ever since I can remember. The Glenn Kotche Active Wave stick is almost perfect. The 16 3/4" length is just what I need for ease of reach to all of my toms & cymbals. The additional length also adds an energy to the stick that propels me forward while playing those "driving" tunes - but the stick is light enough for just laying back and keeping a groove behind the vocalist when finesse it needed.

The heat activated coating is magical. I was worried that the stick would feel tacky or sticky in my hands, but when I picked them up, they felt very smooth and normal. Then, during the gig, when I got heated, the sticks maintained their secure feel in my hands and allowed me to simply concentrate on keeping a good groove.

The wave portion of the stick literally feels like playing sticks with handles. Each wave allows the drummer to move the sweet spot (fulcrum) forward or rearward and if a heavier backbeat is needed, playing with the back of the stick is seamless.

Lastly, I said they were almost perfect, I would have given them a 5 star rating if only they came in a nylon tip option.
If they came with a nylon tip, the Glenn Kotche Active Wave would be the only stick I'd ever buy !!!

Ive been drumming for a few years and no sticks could keep up with how hard i practice, until i tried these. ive been using the same par of thses sticks for the past year, this is amazing considering im a metal drummer.

What a great stick for any drummer's bag. I am a dropper. I have a loose-grip style, yet I pound. That often makes for projectiles flying at the band or my eyes... no longer though...I've been playing these sticks since the came out and I can count on one hand the number of times I have dropped one of them. The coating and the active wave-laythed butt-end contribute to the assist. So nice. I have looked for a stick like this for many years. And it's not all about grip/shape/coating...they offer the player a refinement in design that provides sound ranging from a really beefy crack to the delicate articulation needed for orchestral sound. Like Glen Kotche's playing style, these sticks offer a truely innovative alternative for the discerning percussionist. They do take some getting used to. I stray from them from time to time, but I quickly find myself coming back. And they hold up well. That helps me deal with the higher-end price.

By far THE best sticks I've ever played with the length the wave the active grip.....Just amazing.......GET SOME!!

I have been playing for 40 years and these are the best sticks I have ever used. The new wave feels more comfortable and rarely slip, the more I play the stickier they get. I have arthritis in my hands and these help me play longer without the pain. Do yourself a favor and try a pair.

I love these. I love the wave handles and the active grip coating makes the sticks like magnets to my hands. I bought a bunch of highly rated drum sticks at once and these are by far my favorite.
