this are NOT for everyone. if you want a bright clean sound, with beautiful resonance to enjoy the tone of your drums, this aint for you.

i however absolutely love them. they have a built in muffle that makes the drums sound like a body hitting the pavement. if you want an attack with nothing behind it, these are for you.

i have a 13" and 16" one up one down, g1 reso. i did have a 10" for a bit but it sounded bad with these heads. you want these for that bigger (rock, metalcore, darkpop) sound. i wouldn't go smaller than a 12" imo.

these also can take a beating. i am not kind to my kit and beat these with tree trunks (like marching sticks) and they have done really well under stress

I bought these based on the description to get that big 70's rock sound...instead it sounded like dropping a medicine ball on carpet. No tone, just a dead sound. They are also ridiculously thick which is probably not helping the situation. I honestly can't think of a good "sound" you would ever want to use these for.

Miraculously makes my 16" floor tom sound like a basketball hitting a concrete wall. Impressively awful

I"ve always have had a hard time getting the ring out of my drums and know fellow drummers with the same problems and have tried lots of different things with some success but these heads are so simple to tune, I had 5 toms to tune and had them all tuned in 10 minutes with very little ring and the sound is so amazing! I would recommend these to anyone wanting a easy setup and amazing sound!
