Both as a low-volume acoustic solution as a replacement head for electronic drums and conversion kits, Evans dB Zero mesh drumheads deliver a satisfying, customizable playing experience without the noise of traditional skins. Only dB Zero heads come with Evans' Level 360 collar technology for level seating and an even stretch across the shell. These single-ply mesh heads have a good rebound to them and boast a wide tuning range to suit all styles and techniques. Whether you're practicing in an upstairs apartment or performing on a quiet stage, Evans dB Zero mesh drumheads dramatically reduce the acoustic volume of your kit without compromising on feel. Total beast.

By Bryan H. from Fayetteville, NC

I usually use aquarian super mesh but they have been harder to find, hopefully not discontinued. This is a HELL of an alternative, as far as I can tell, they hold up just as good as the aquarians, hold tension just as well, and they feel very similar to the aquarians. People who play e drums will be the first to tell you that head choice is important for feel... and these feel different, but same quality as the aquarians. These seem to mimic acoustic heads in a similar way to aquarian super mesh but the difference between the two would be the evans would have more of a single ply head feel, whereas the aquarians, in my observation, would remind you more of a two ply head. Both heads i'm speaking of are single ply, and they are more similar than different, and ultimately interchangeable. I think what I'm going to do is put an aquarian on my kicks and snare, and the evans on my toms. These seem to be best suited as tom mesh heads (although I currently have one on my snare and it is really fantastic.... I have it marching band tight and its incredible. I personally PREFER THE FEEL of the aquarian, but please know that's just a matter of taste, the quality of this head is off the charts and its feel is EQUALLY GOOD, just not my style as much.)
