Ultimate Support TS-70B Aluminum Tripod Speaker Stand Reviews
Quality doesn't need to cost a fortune! The TS-70B from the Classic Series is the strongest tripod speaker stand in its class. Ultimate Support performed dozens of load tests, and the TS-70B has never lost a head-to-head comparison of stands often costing much more. It features a glass-reinforced polycarbonate collar and fittings that are 3x to 5x stronger than the nylon collars and fittings typically used by other stands in this price range. The TS-70B is the strongest tripod speaker stand built for the budget-minded situation.

Only Buy good stands
These are the best. With a warranty that they actually honor. Cheep stands are heavier, with sharp ends and plastic parts that break. If the stand fails at a gig and falls and hurts somone. How much will that cost? Buy quality!
Well built and easy to set up
I've had one of these stands for years and I recently bought a second one, because I find them to be real workhorses. Carting them from show to show, loading and unloading, they stand up (literally) to a lot of use. Easy to set up and incredibly sturdy, I am never in doubt that my speakers are safely supported.
Work great supporting KRK Rokit 10-3s
They easily support 50 pound speakers plus a five pound base I built--they're really 1 3/8 " diameter and have a cheap plastic sleeve if you need 1 1/2"
Solid and Durable
I just ordered my third pair of these to use with powered speakers. Lightweight and durable, I can't imagine going with a different set. Value for the dollar rates a 10 in my book.
Sturdy & Light Weight!
Great stand! Have always had the steel monsters that were sturdy but a bear to lug around. These are phenomenally light-weight but sturdy.
Very strong and sterdy speaker stand
Excellent speaker stand! Light weight and strong. I bought one just to check it out and loved it. Highly recommend

This stand give you value for you money and is of excellent quality.
Ultimate Support speaker stands
Well, speaker stands don't really blow me away, but the service and customer attention did. I hadn't tried Sweetwater before, but broke a stand and needed a replacement right away. Their rep, Jared, took care of me. He offered good advice and, after I placed my order, actually called me because the order didn't reflect what we'd discussed. I had trouble figuring out part of my order, and he corrected it over the phone. I was very impressed and very satisfied with the next day delivery.
Speaker Stands
I bought these satnds because of the low cost and wow was I surprised at how well they were built . Very Good deal for the Price!
Great Value
Strong, solid, and lightweight. Great value.
Super Stand
Light in weight, but very strong, and the hold knob works really well, but there is only one hole drilled in the stand, so I'm going to have to drill a few more holes for height adjustment. Other than that, I love these stands. I use them to hold my Mackie 450 speakers.
Great, but...
I like these stands a lot. Picked them up to use with my Bose S1 Pros and for that they are perfect - plenty sturdy and super easy to set up/tear down. The only issue I have/had is that the tops of the poles have sharp edges. I looked on Ultimate’s web site to see if they had any caps available but didn’t find any. So I looked at the poles on my 20+ year old stands (also Ultimate Support) and found the same open poles, but the edges were worn smooth. So I grabbed some sand paper (80 &150) and sat on my porch and sanded the sharp pole ends smooth. My Bose speakers have a pressure switch in the pole-mount holes and I didn’t want them to get jacked up. I still may look for some caps from other vendors, but am ok if I don’t find any!

As an equipment rental company, we own a couple hundred of these tripod stands. They are included in our various speaker system kits that we rent. Some customers use them, some customers rig the speakers from truss so these stands end up staying in the shipping case until they come back to one of our offices where they are set up and checked for any damage, appearance or operational issues.
Simply, many of our rental customers do not treat our equipment with care - but in spite of that, these Ultimate stands rarely come back to us with any damage. We have had a few come back with significant damage and those needed to be replaced, but over the 15 years that we have been renting these speaker stands, they have proven to be exceptionally durable, light weight, sturdy, and inexpensive. These are a very good value for us and whenever we plan to expand our speaker inventory, I'm certain we will be including these stands in our rental kits
Solid!
Cheap, but not too cheap. Sturdy! Solid! Supports my 15" 2way Yamaha's with ease. Great height adjustment. Would definitely recommend.
Cheap Collars
I purchased 3 pairs of these, and 100% of the height adjustment collars broke. If you plan to set up/break down the stands often, get something else. If it is a permanent install and you need something cheap, they may serve you well, but know they are cheap where it counts most. Very disappointing based on my experience with the TS-99s.
Ultimate Support TS-70
Works on holding the speaker up, but a slight wind move it around. Had to use another stane, that was larger.
Not so great... definitely not "Ultimate"
I ordered a pair of these supports about 2 months ago. The shipping was fast and the customer service was excellent (as always with Sweetwater)... but this review is not about Sweetwater, it is about speaker stands.
We set up and tear down once every week, to give you an idea of the frequency of use these experienced.
1) The legs were difficult to extend outward - even with the knob loosened all the way.
2) The pin that goes through the adjustable pole was a very small diameter - much lighter than some cheaper speaker stands I already own for another purpose.
3) The extending pole has no plastic cap, and has sharp edges. This results in gouges in the recesses of the speakers which are to be mounted. For a list price of $80, I would think they would include that.
4) The last straw was when then entire tightening knob broke off in my hand when I was tightening the stand. I didn't really "get on it" either - not over-tightening. Just normal use, and the side of the collar broke right off with the handle attached.
Not impressed with the product at all.
However, Sweetwater took care of me immediately and we found another product which arrived quickly for about the same price. The "On-Stage SS7761B" which seems to be much better quality.
Very easy to break
Lightweight stands ideal for small speakers. With larger speakers they won't stay up if tightened too lightly, but break very easily when overtightened! Happened in the middle of a practice. Scared the **** out of me.
