We recently used two Alto TS108C powered column speakers as our sole PA system for an outdoor gig and received multiple compliments on our sound. We are a 4-piece rock band with acoustic drums, vocals, electric guitar & bass (using modelers), and keyboard running straight into our digital mixer and connected to two Alto columns behind the band on either side. This allowed us to forego monitors, so we heard the same mix the audience did and it worked our great. We played to about 200 and received rave reviews, and were not even pushing it that hard. I even had a friend who mentioned he could hear the band clearly from his backyard nearly 1 mile away. Now THAT's projection! We could add a powered subwoofer if we needed more thumping bass, but overall very pleased with the sound quality and ease of setup.
