These are wonderful. Wish I had them years ago.

Can't beat this for the price

By John from Central Texas on February 20, 2024 Music Background: Former gigging/recording musician, retired.

I tend to stay away from Chinese made goods but this stand is an exception. I've used these for gigs with EV TRX 115's before and I've used them with the powered version EV 115S too. Adjusting the height is a breeze just grab the rubber hand hold and turn the top nut on the stand pipe and up it goes. At the end of the night reverse the process, it's effortless. No cranks, no holding pins. Just the stand and the speaker.

The legs are very sturdy and you don't have to fully extend them if you don't have the room, they can still hold up a heavy PA cab without a problem. I've owned 4 pairs of these stands over the years, playing 45+ gigss a year and I've never had the gas cylinder go flat on me.

So far these are the easiest to use stands I've ever owned, reliable, sturdy and fault free. Get a pair, you'll thank me after your first gig with them.

Ultimate Support Speaker Stands

By Alonzo Mr. DJ from Flint, Mi on May 4, 2023 Music Background: Wedding and Event DJ.

I needed quality speaker stands for my ETX 15'speakers. Since they have a little weight to them, I knew it would be easier for me to put them up on the stands to elevate them to my desired heights. These are great. Love the shock assist. Usually I would need help on getting them to different heights. Thanks Zach (Sweetwater) for getting me what I needed.

Ultimate lift assist speaker tripods

By DJ Jeff B from BIRMINGHAM, AL on October 4, 2021 Music Background: DJ

Troy Veglatte was extremely helpful in helping me find a solution and did his research and turned me on to these. I do special events for Sax 5th Avenue and several other corporate clients and my problem was at breakdown bringing the QSC 12.2 off of the tripod. I have to fly these high for proper sound dispersion and so it's not annoying to the guests as well. I'm extremely satisfied with the overall stability and functionality. Im able to raise these about 6 inches higher than before which is a plus. The lifting is also a plus. Thanks so much Troy and Ultimate!

Excellent speaker stand.

By Melika on June 7, 2021

The lift assist is the real deal, tough to push back down on my own but if I stand on a chair it works. Does exactly what I need with using the Isovox~

Well worth their cost, saves my back!

By Robert Strong from FL - Florida on February 16, 2021 Music Background: "One Man Band" gigs, specializing in Ballroom Dance Music

When I was younger and fit, I used "On Stage" basic stands (user does all the lifting up and lowering speaker cabs). Now at age 71, I can still load gear in my van--but I can't safely shove the poles up, with heavy speakers on them. I did, with great struggle, risking back injury and toppling the stand over! I work "One-Man-Band" gigs, including set up & pack out--ALONE.
These Ultimate Support "lift assist" stands are ideal! My JBL Eon610 powered cabs rise entirely by the stand. I loosen the collar, and up they go. My Behringer 15" passive cabs need my added easy push with the stand doing 95% of the lift. I must pull down, to compress the gas back into lowered position. The speakers weight and gravity does most of that, making the pull down easy for this great grandpa (using the tapered hand-grip collar on the stand). Wish I'd gotten these years ago. (Bands with several guys to help on gigs--these stands will help the ONE who sets gear back up at home or in the studio, when the rest of the crew aren't there. Get em, save your back, and don't risk a crash that means buying new speaker cabs!)

Easy setup and tear down

By Kent from SC on November 25, 2020

I just picked up a second set of these stands. Superior quality and the gas shock inside the stand helps get speakers positioned where you want them, without having to do all of the heavy lifting. Awesome product with a fantastic warranty.

I have always had exceptional service from Sweetwater especially my tech, Tom Koch! He advises me when I'm choosing between different products and is not pushy. My speaker stands are awesome. They make setting up really effortless. Thanks Tom for all your time in getting me the right equipment. You'er the best!!!

Feels tough enough

By Finch from Georgia on August 22, 2020 Music Background: Pays tha bills

Have used cheap speaker stands for a long time .
I really notice the difference now ,
And it matters if you intend to play for a living .
Gear that works during an event removes the unnecessary distractions .
And the dread of load in with cheap junk is a definite distraction.
You don't want a speaker to fall on someone , and you don't want to hurt your back or even your hands while positioning a speaker ,
This one feels strong , if it last 10 years it's well worth it
I'm happy..

Huge thank you to James Wroblewski for letting me know about the Ultimate Support TS-100B. I knew that they were such a thing out there but thought that they were well in the $400-500 range and that was just way more than I wanted to throw on them seeing how its' sole purpose was to just be nice enough to hold a speaker in the air. I put the QSC KW152 on it which is 65 pounds and I did have to help it lift but it was no trouble at all. I ordered one to try it out and it definitely does what the reviews and previews says that it does. I will be ordering another one soon because for what it does, the price is well worth it and It is the best around hence the Title name. (I wonder who all got that from the get go?!) Note: Be very careful when pushing the bar back down, the air pressure will want to fight you, literally!)

Best Speaker Stand at best value out there!

By Guy from Denver from Denver on February 1, 2019 Music Background: 40+ years and still playing out!

OK, just a speaker stand - but, well priced, professionally designed stage gear that should last forever... Also, admittedly, I'm getting older (but still gigging a bunch) - the lift assist is proving to be a wonderful thing for my back!

Best reason for the new stand, it is a perfect height for my small QSC K8.2's solo set up - gets the horn up over the audiences head, my smaller stands did not do this. Speaker stand is 6 feet 7 inches high, which gets the mains up pretty high and noticeably helps with better audio dispersion...

Another great product from Ultimate Support - and as always - a great shout out to my amazing Sweetwater sales engineer Chris McCown, always gets me fast delivery and fantastic advice!

These lift-assist stands really work well and are built much better than stands I've used previously. I also love that the parts are replaceable. Highly recommended!

Ultimate Support TS-100B - Best Stand I'v Ever Purchased

By Dove from Wallstorm on April 25, 2018 Music Background: Studio Engineer, Producer, Keyboardist, and Live Gear Engineer

These stands are truly a life saver. I'v always used cheap On Stage stands which never worked for me and eventually broke on me. Then when seeing this great deal at "Sweetwater"… I right away arranged a quote with my sales engineer Dan Wagoner which is an incredible guy except for his devoted work that he does. I purchased 2 Pairs of those with some other stuff at "Sweetwater" and fortunately got these stands...

I have 2 QSC's K12 and 2 K10's, obviously the K10's rise up quicker because they're lighter, but the K12's go up just as smooth. The way down on the other hand I would say you need some pull, so if you're average built you shouldn't have a problem. (I"m not on the strong side and never had a problem pulling them down.)

However reading a review noting that different then other stands on the TS-100 stand you"ll have to lift the speaker up higher then other brands in order to place it on the pole, I didn't find that problem, even coming from the on stage stands which don't even reach the height of these stands. (and even with my height of 5' 6" I can still reach, "maybe he was really short").

So in my opinion you can't go wrong with these especially when "Sweetwater" has had in the past a nice few deals on these and is likely to have more to come. "Go ahead get one and you'll never forgive yourself for not getting them up until now." In fact they should've really been Dr. approved, since you save your back a lot of work.

Follow up report

By Jason from Maine on December 5, 2015

I have been using a set of these for the last 18 months to hoist up 65# JBL JRX115 speakers. I am a big guy and can get them up on the stand, but using a manual stand to raise and lock them up was just a major pain. Using the TS100b makes setting up these heavier style mains a much easier and safer job. A bonus is the type of operation, the way the legs splay out, and the way the locking mechanism grabs the main support tube. I have just bought another pair.

One major suggestion is to recolor the piston lock knob red or yellow as a reminder of the air piston.

Never been excited about a Monitor Stand until now

By Adam M from Costa Mesa, CA on November 24, 2014 Music Background: Live & Recording Artist

In the 11 year I have been playing live, Ive had to purchase many monitor stands and most of them are simply, heavy, bulky and not constructed with well thought out design. Well I watched many reviews on this stand, and took the leap of faith and got 2 of these guys. The first time we used them for a gig was funny, we put the monitors on and released the hydraulic and watched the stands push up the monitor on it own...about 4 times before we started set up our other equipment. They feel like the most solid and comfortable to open, close and hold (theres a grip at the top). These have been nothing but great so far. Ultimate Support makes some quality gear.

slick.

Theses work better than expected and a back saver... a little difficult to lower as my speakers are light, but how else would I raise them (as a woman with a back limitation)?

One of the best, if not the best

By Groovus from SE Ohio on September 30, 2013 Music Background: Home recordist, plays in two band, owns the PA for bands

This is one great speaker stand. Built strong and sturdy, like a tank, with the wonderful addition of assisted lifting of speakers. The older I get, the less I can lift, so this feature is essential. If there is a better unit out there, I have not found it.

My back really likes these speaker stands

By Don Hansen from Myrtle Beach, SC on March 15, 2013 Music Background: Worship Pastor

very easy to use and really helps lift heavy speakers once placed on the stand. Now able to extend heavy speakers (75 - 100 lbs) to fullest height without back strain or other risk of injury. Be careful not to overtorque the clamps and they should last a long time!

This is it!

By Jim Landers from Dayton, Oh on December 28, 2011 Music Background: Musician

Wow, no more fighting getting the speakers up and down! The lift mechanism is weighted to about 40 lbs making it work great with the speaker mounted on top. Better have a couple of strong arms to push it down when there is no speaker on it. The load capacity is set just right for the speakers I use.

I wish I had these all along...

By IDJ4FUN from Reston, VA on November 8, 2010 Music Background: Mobile DJ

I only bought one because I only needed one stand, but I'll be back for #2 to complete the set. The hydraulic feature works beautifully to get my RCF ART-725's (40lb) speakers 'just above the crowd' with zero effort on my part. I selected these stands due to the field serviceable parts and Ultimate Support's warranty - highly recommend. I had no issue with gently tightening the collar for transport after the speaker was lowered. I've learned over the years that with Ultimate Support, you really don't have to crank the knobs super tight to get a good hold - just enough will do the job and make the knob screws last and still be safe. The built-in speaker mount adapter is a welcome change from the old plastic inserts needed for US stands In addition, they make my set up look solid and professional - I was previously using the silver color Ultimate Supports.

I'll keep it short. Set up and break down made a lot faster when doing sound. I like not having to wait for help mounting or breaking down a speaker. Everyone has their own task.

You can't go wrong with these stands especially if you ride solo makes setting up a breeze and they are very sturdy. A great upgrade over what I had before.

Excellent stands

By Eric from Ft. Myers on May 2, 2016

As a professional musician, 250-300 gigs a year, I needed stands that would hold up and be an attractive addition to my stage setup. These stands fit the bill completely. The hydraulic telescoping feature works wonderfully since I'm still using the older Mackie 450's that weigh 50 lbs each. I also purchased bags to keep them from being scuffed up while transporting and feel certain I'll not need to purchase speaker stands for many years.

Ultimate Support stands

By Curt from Defiance, Ohio on April 15, 2015 Music Background: Audio, lights, and drums

If you've ever lifted a speaker onto a stand, you have a 50/50 shot at damaging your back or worse. But, once the speaker is securely on the stand, you are burdened with the task of raising them to the necessary height.
Utilizing these stands, you can let the hydraulic take over rather than risking injury trying to manually lift a 50 pound box on a pole. The tripod base is solid and very stable. I actually had a drunken dancer fall back against the stand already and the stand barely wiggled. How cool is that?

Great Product For Us Older People

By Dee Doige on February 9, 2015 Music Background: Church Volunteer, and a hobby guitar player.......etc

We ordered 4 of these speaker stands for the Church. As we need to set up and take down every week, and none of the crew is young, we felt it was time to make things easier for ourselves. When the stands arrived and were set up, the "guys" were like little kids with a new toy! They are what we had hoped for, and they seem sturdy enough to last for many years.

It's about time

By Steve Sykes from Port Townsend, WA on August 5, 2014 Music Background: singer songwriter, recording engineer

These are great speaker stands. They work just as advertised, and make it oh so easy to get your speakers up in the air. I'm a 67 year old guy with a bad back, and these are just the ticket for me.

Sturdy Smooth Easy

By Jason Simonds from Jefferson, ME on July 27, 2014 Music Background: Singer - sound geek

Compared to the older manual stands we have been using... these are much better built. The tubing is solid, the fittings rugged. The locking collars are not cheap plastic. The leg system seems more stable becasue of the angles at which the leg supports are attached and move.

The real kicker is the lift assist. We use JRX115 monitors. I can get them up on stands by myself at 61#'s, but getting them up in the air takes two people with a normal stand, yet with the 50#'s of lift assist, it is an easy one man job. When we use a set of JRX112's for mains, it is even easier.

I bought in on a 2fer deal where a pair was $125..

The only reason they don't get 5 stars is they are not consistent between them... but this could be a break in issue.. IE .. when sliding the extension on the unit with load on it, the friction/resistance is not the same .. one takes more initial force to get it moving... my guess is that they have a friction mechanism to help prevent the air from pushing the unit to easily.

Great stands!

By Dave from Princeton, NJ on July 8, 2014 Music Background: Recording Engineer

Absolutely perfect for a one man gig! I use QSC HPR speakers that are about 60 lbs. The stand holds the speakers well and lifts them very easily. As the manual says, make sure you put the speaker on and then lift the speaker up. It is very hard to put the speaker stand down if you've removed the speaker. You're putting what feels like an insane amount of pressure on the stand if you do not use the speakers. I got these on a 2 for 1 deal from sweetwater with free shipping. You really cant beat the price for quality.

Good with a Caveat

By George Hammond from Round Hill, VA on January 15, 2024 Music Background: Gigging musician

These things have been a back-saver for lifting speaker. Nicely build, and heavy duty without weighing overly much. But plastic parts (specifically the plastic handles on the wingnuts) break easily. These stands are not handled roughly. We play low-key jazz clubs, with plenty of time for load in and out, and the stands are packed in their own case. There's really no excuse for flimsy parts, particularly ones that replacing with shipping cost

Good Stand But Heavy

By Steven Hill from CUMBERLAND, IN on July 7, 2020 Music Background: Sound Production

I have been running sound since I was a kid. I have always used Ultimate Support Speaker Speaker Stands. Getting the speakers up on the stands and raising them when setting up, and trying to gently lower them gently when breaking down has always been a pain, so I bought 2 of the TS100B's. I was surprised how heavy the shipping box was when I received them. They are heavy. A lot heavier than the non assist stands. When I tried to open the legs up the slide was very tight even though the thumb screw was very loose. I suppose they will loosen up with use. I set my Mackie SRM450's on the stands, and loosened the height adjustment screw, and the speaker slowly raised and stopped at full height. When I was ready to break down you have to apply quite a bit of downward pressure to bring them down. All and all I like them

Quality for sure

By Jack Huff from Az on January 9, 2019

It did not raise my JBL JRX 212..but it did make it easier to lift. It was super cold, so that may have affected it somewhat...claims to lift 41 lbs...that is probably right.

Ultimate Support TS-100b

By Steve Ostrowsky from WISCONSIN on December 10, 2018 Music Background: Have my own band also DJ and do sound and lights for others

I use these for the older JBL Eon series powered speakers, very heavy. So nice to have the lift assist compared to 2 people raising them up and hoping the stand is secured before letting go now I can raise them up by myself and the extra weight helps me lower and reload the lift assist. Yes a huge improvement!! And with my sales agent Jon's help he even scored me a great deal on the padded bag for them. Don't hesitate you know you need them get 'em you'll be so glad you did

This is The One!

By Jack James from High Springs, Fla. on August 10, 2011 Music Background: Blues/Rock/Jazz, small venue performer/music theory teacher.

This was just what I needed! I had planned to sell my awesome HARTKE AC150 because it was so heavy and wouldn't project like a line-array would. A thousand dollars would have been a large expense for me and the line-array doesn't utilize an acoustic-plywood cabinet design like the "high-quality" HARTKE does. I kept the amp and boosted it's 65lb. weight into the air with this stand! My solo-gig is what it should sound like now and my on-stage look is PRO.

great idea...needs a bit of tweaking

By stefan azar from miami fl on September 23, 2009 Music Background: pro musician, recording engineer, producer.... etc, etc.

Ruggedly built with solid components. Problem is that the pneumatic pressure requires an uncomfortable amount of torque on the locking ring and knob to keep it down for transport. It feels as though either the knob, locking sleeve or my wrist is going to shatter as the sweat pours down my face while I muster the strength to crank the knob with enough force.

Won’t stay closed

Does what it says it claims

By kevin e beers from OH on July 11, 2020

I do not like the way the legs open. It's difficult to do them since they go out sideways instead of straight away from the center post on a pivot. It does lift the speakers but not as easily as I was expecting. Could be improved upon so keep trying.

Overpriced for the built quality

By David from NYC on July 28, 2020

Definitely like the design, but I have to say the quality is just not there. Poor plastic and sharp edges. I wouldn't recommend to others.

UNSAFE

By Josh Foster from South Florida on April 21, 2023 Music Background: Crazy Fingers Band/Music Production

Our band wanted these to work out as most reviews looked solid. Unfortunately after a month (approx 6 uses with turbosound q15's @57lbs) no matter how tightly screwed, they would come loose and hydraulic would cause them to raise on their own when they were packed away. Not safe for that reason alone- especially while driving around with them. The price however was in our budget so we are bummed we had to return them. We picked out the K&M 213 stands which are more than double the price! Hoping in this case the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for"? To be continued...

Friction Collar breaks

By Shane from High Point, NC on July 2, 2016 Music Background: Professional

I loved these stands at first, despite being pretty heavy, they function well and make raising your speakers a breeze. However, there is a design flaw that I have experienced that renders them unusable. The 2-piece plastic collar inserts that go inside the height-adjusting tension ring have broken- twice. This piece is integral to the functionality of the stand and is very brittle and will break under normal use. Ultimate warranty has replaced the part for me but I have to find a more reliable stand.

Ultimate TS-100

By Bob DeYoung from Kalamazoo, MI USA on November 26, 2011 Music Background: Life long musician, DJ

I thought I would like them better than I do. First, the speaker doesn't fit as tight as it should on the built in adapter. 2nd, The stand is a little too high when it's all the way down. So you have to lift the speaker up higher ( than other brands) just to get it on the stand. 3rd, even thought the speaker lifts up with the pneumatic system, you have to pull it back down when it's time to pack up. Altogether, I'm putting more effort into mounting and dismounting speakers as I did with any other stand I've used.
