Kool Flavor!
The thing I like about this plug-in is that it has an AKG 414 XLII model. I do vocals through An XLII And some instruments through an AKG 414 ULS and this plug-in gives them nice character on the tube mic settings. I have done vocals on an 87 before and this is convincing on this plug-in. I feel that it's worth the money especially if you have lower cost mics in your locker.
Amazingly Easy To Use
I recently purchased this plugin and have been amazed by how easy it was to get a real good vocal sound with it. I would suspect that some would not find this useful but I will be using it on ALL vocals I do in my home studio. The controls are intuitive and it works seamlessly with my DAW. At this price point it's a steal!
More Choices
I don"t expect to sing through my mics and have a final sound like the original mics that are being modeled. But, I wanted to give my current mics another flavor. I have a small, modest home studio. I own a Neumann TLM49, a Shure SM7B, and a Sennheiser 441u....all of them great. It is always fun to look at new gear and dream of more mics. This software has given me a way to modify the way my mics sound. I can"t tell you what a U87, or C12 sound like, because I never tried them. I am a hobbiest who can"t afford much more than I already have. But, when I do play around with the various settings, I am pleased to have some tones and character coming out of my mics that are very useful.
