Too big to fit Bongo Cajon

By Sweetwater Customer

I could not believe that the smallest width of the holding brackets was 2" too large to fit a standard bongo cajon approximately 16-17". what were they thinking? No one can tell me a bongo cajon product that actually fits properly on this cajon stand. Otherwise, it's a heavy duty sturdy low profile stand.

Not Low Enough

By Peter from Charlottesville

Unless you have freakishly long arms, playing the Cajon is similar to a medieval torture device, killing your back and butt. I was excited to try the new "low" Cajon stand from Meinl to raise up the playing surface to make it more comfortable. Here are my observations:

Pros - very well-built and stable stand with lots of adjustments. The brackets fit the Meinl Jumbo Bass Subwoofer Cajon and feels very stable.

Cons - even at the absolute lowest setting, the Cajon sits up pretty high. Place it at an angle, and you have to lean way forward to utilize full striking surface. I did found some luck using it almost horizontal (see pic). However, I discovered placing on this position removed much of the "oomph" the Subwoofer Cajon has when coupled with the floor. This actually may work better with a rear-ported Cajon, giving it a little more bass output.

I'll keep experimenting with it, but for me, the low stand is not just not low enough, so I may just go back to being tortured for the art of better playing!
