Better Than Expected!

I purchased this cabinet because my 4x12 cab for my Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier head was too bulky. I looked at the specs and saw the features this amp has. I was happy with the speaker selection and pairing when I first viewed the amp online. I was not sure how well the construction of the amp would be, but I have always have been impressed with Yamaha's product quality. When the 2x12 cabinet arrived in the mail I was blown away by how much better it looks in person. When I hooked up my Triple Rectifier head I was very happy with the speaker response, tone, and presence. The closed back cabinet made the guitar sound very punchy. The factor that I am most pleased about, and the reason I purchased this cabinet is its portability and weight. Now I can gig with great tone without having all the extra baggage.

The Yamaha THRC212 2x12 cab

Why I had to have this cab was the Eminence speakers and on top of that Yamaha has never let me down. I love celestion but it is nice to switch it up now and then. An old friend of mine had a home made cab loaded with a Eminence speaker and some other speaker and it was the loudest cab I have ever heard next to this one metal band I saw at The Graceland in Seattle in the early 00's. That cab I used every Friday for 10 years from 05 to about 2014(9 years) and now have tinnitus which is cool. It is getting better. I got a lunch box amp and I use this cab with it and I get cool buzzaw tones. Please cab makers more Eminence options. I will always dig the Greenback options from Celestion and a few others but Eminence makes some special speakers as well. Great Job, Yamaha.
