I've had 3 out of 4 of these break. Same issue on all 3. Turbosound doesn't provide parts so you can't fix it.

Very impressed with the sound and volume and ease of setup with cat5 daisy chain thru behringer ultranet

the first one blew the first practice I used it. Sweetwater replaced it. the second one blew just the same. Only vocals going through it... no instruments. In conversation with Sweetwater, they told me they would fix it if I wanted. what good would that do me? I don't feel good selling these to anybody else.

I dug deeper. The amp is the issue. . The speaker is an interesting design. Horn through magnet with the driver on the back of the speaker. when it did work, it sounded honky, as others have said. I would convert this to passive, but then I'd have to buy a crossover.

My recommendation? Buy something better. Don't buy these.

I purchased two of these for my band because, as the drummer, I was tired of getting blasted by the guitar and bass monitors. The angle would be pointed right at my face (we have our own drum riser), while the sound was hitting them in the knees. The angle of these monitors points at their faces, and the sound is crisp, clear, and LOUD. Now they can have their mix so they can hear clearly and I'm not getting blown away. They have been great for us!

With plenty of clarity and power, these will give the consistency that we lack traveling from venue to venue. Makes consistency and efficiency that much more! Fantastic customer service - which is why I keep coming back to Sweetwater!

This unit is awful. I have purchased 3 of them. All 3 have been back to Sweetwater for repair. The power amp unit failed. All three have failed again. The part has very low availability and costs so much it is probably not worth repairing again as it will likely just fail a third time. I would not recommend this product to anyone. One of the worst purchase decisions for sound equipment that I have ever made.

Sounds excellent, easy to use, compact

We are pleased with these monitors; it has decent power. The singers at church love it.

I purchased these in October of 2022. They are not what I would consider amazing, BUT do sound OK for their price point, and are very compact and sleek. They do need to be broken in when 1st purchased because they do sound very "boxy" out of the box .

THE MAJOR CONS TO THIS PRODUCT.
They were used 4 times after purchasing. 3 of the 6 that I own blew in a matter of days from each other and will not power up at all. I have called and tried to get replacement parts and they are no where to be found with any dealer or authorized repair companies. I have a few other brands from The Music Tribe and finding parts is near impossible. They have been using Covid as an excuse for their poor management and organization. I dont recommend purchasing ANYTHING that has their involvement. I also own 2 Lab Gruppens and a Midas that I have been waiting on parts for almost 2-1/2 years. I will not be purchasing any products from them ever again, the customer service and repair are THE WORST IVE EVER EXPERIENCED

I currently own 6 of these and 4 are non functional. I had them for maybe 1 year before they stopped working. Power Source is non functional, won't turn on at all. Cant find any parts for these anywhere. Will never purchase anything from Turbosound or anything to do with Music Tribe again.

By far the best value for the money! Great sounding monitors with awesome features and design.

Gets the job done.

I have invested in several of these monitors and have had plenty of compliments on the how good the audio is. When these are functioning properly they are my favorite monitors. Unfortunately, they are not what I would consider super sturdy. Out of the 8 I have purchase 4 have had failure issues with a couple of concert seasons. Music Group has been a disappointment as far as support goes and have heard the same complaints from various other users using products from the music group family of products. Parts are far from readily available or I would have repaired products myself.

I had been looking to downsize from my JBL 15" monitors (which I love, but they are so big on stage) and spent a lot of time looking at all the options. After reading all the reviews, I decided to roll the dice on these Turbosounds. I was skeptical, just because of the fairly low price, so I ordered one to try it out. After one session, I knew I'd found a winner. I called my rep Chris Goldbach and ordered two more. As usual, he took care of everything. The Turbos are cleaner, more directional, and have all of the low end I thought I'd be missing after years of using 15's for monitors. As the technology keeps improving, we are now able to buy better speakers at a lower price point than we ever did before. There may be better ones available at three times the price, but for my money these can't be beat. Buy them ... you'll be happy you did.

I've had these guys for a good month or so now, andhave used them on about 10 gigs. I do sound for a couple local bands, and the only thing I've been getting from the members is, "The sound on stage is perfect!" And, "It's so great to actually hear myself!" Everybody loves them,and they're half the price of the EVs.

Build quality is solid. They're wood cabinets that have extra plastic over the sides for protection. They have an EQ, a crossover, and different placement settings. I don't understand that feedback protection, but I haven't had any problems with feedback yet, so...win.

The only downside to these is that they're fairly heavey for their size. That's the 4 star instead of 5.

I've used it on 2 gigs so far and I didn't even tweak the sound yet. Right out of the box plugged it in and it sounded Great! It's built like a tank . We plan on getting another one!

I've used a number of different monitors over the years. Prior to this monitor, the best I had ever sang through was probably a JBL, but not sure of the model. Their are several things that make this monitor work for me.
1. The coaxial speaker allows you to hear the highs and lows from one place vs the old style monitors with a woofer and a horn.
2. The Ultranet system allows us to number the monitors by the channel we have set internally. This then allows the audio feed on the monitor to be daisy-chained through up to seven monitors on each circuit. So it cuts down on home runs back to some distribution point. The FOH speakers are also on Ultranet. We have five of these 12" monitors, one of the 15" and two of the IQ12 FOH speakers all on the ultranet.
3. The Ultranet sounds more 3D than the xlr. Don't get me wrong, the XLR input sounds fine and we had occasion to use XLR recently when we were upgrading the system, but the Ultranet sounds clearer.
4. Built in feedback control. We have never had a feedback problem with these.

As far as cons,
1. The sweet spot on the audio is a little low. I am 6'1" and the audio hits me in the chest. I have to step back about 3 or 4 feet from the monitor to get in the zone. I can't stand right over it.

When I saw this monitor I reached out to my Sweetwater rep, Tyler. He told me this was a fantastic monitor and I would be very happy with it.

I plugged it in and had it ready for a rehearsal. This monitor exceeded all expectations. I have QSC K12.2 speakers that I used as monitors and this Turbosound was significantly better sounding as a monitor. It was loud, incredibly clear and there was zero feedback.

Considering the cost these are one of the best investments we have made in our live stage monitor systems.
The Ultranet is a super feature.

Not as loud as QSC, JBL, etc.
We tried one and were impressed by the design and coverage and the performers were pleased.
Now we have a bunch of them on the road.

Big thanks to Lucas Norton for getting the speaker to me so quickly despite of the busy Thanksgiving holiday. This is the 2nd one after I bought the first one back in July, used in couple gigs and liked it a lot. They are loud, and thanks to their small form factor, it helps making the stage so much neater.

They are loud and clear and as long as you use Shure 58s - no feedback.

I use them with Turbosound front of house speakers and sub and the whole system sounds amazing.

Not that long ago you would have had to spend a lot more for this quality.

The AC power inlet, power switch and fuse combo is held into the chassis from behind with silicone. No screws securing it. Over time the silicone has pulled away from the rear of the chassis and the connector moves inside the speaker cabinet when an AC cord is plugged in. Poor design, I've replaced mine with a panel mounting AC/Switch/Fuse holder combo secured to the chassis with screws.

Couldn't be happier. Will be buying more to match. Versatile,Light,Sounds great.
No,you won't use it as a drum fill for Slayer, but it's worked for vox,bass,guitars,& keys. Everyone digs it. No brass,yet,but confident this little wedge will perform well.
The preset EQ choices will get you in the ballpark, and respond well to external EQ units, which I've tested.(Klark-Technik DN360, dbx 231S, and a Behringe.)
Like any wedge, the sweet spot changes with virtually every application/venue/performer;This wedge makes it easy to find every time you fire it up.
I'll be getting more.

I love these monitors, they get plenty loud for me. I like being able to use ultranet with my x32 / Midas mixers and being able to daisy chain them is pretty darn handy! I'd give them 5 stars if they had more low end though. it really gets rough under 80hz. Personally I think this makes a great compact monitor! I don't have a ton of stage room, so this thing helps us out a lot!

For the pricepoint, nothing better. these self-powered wedges are perfect for a small stage. bass response is not balance with the high frequency drivers so can be a little bright (why i rated 4 stars) but can be EQ'd ... I used for a loud grunge band combined with in ears... I used the wedges for vocal monitors and k10s for the guitar monitors. was perfect combo. I also use these regularly for church worship team and seems perfect so far after 1 month of use.

Getting another pair as soon as they become available.

These sound as good as the touring versions we used back in the 90's. Superb power for the package, programmable, Ultranet-compatible. Bought a second one this year.

I've owned 2 of these for a couple years now and they have never let me down. They sound great and have plenty of power for those that like to keep their hearing on stage. Must set these up close to the person that is intended to use them since they degrade off axis quickly. I find that to be a huge positive for bands running a good number of monitors on somewhat smaller stages. I have used them with loud rock bands to smaller acoustic bands. No feedback has ever come from these monitors when I am running them. Bands I have engineered have always complimented them after shows.

I purchased 3 of these monitors this summer for my sound company. Right away I noticed that they made this weird and alarming popping sound when I turn them off. But since all 3 did it, I figured it was just how they were designed. Anyway maybe a month after I owned them, I'm providing sound for a regular Friday i event I cover, I have my 3 turbo sound wedges up front along with a peavey pvx speaker. The 4th guitarist up front says hey nice monitors I own the exact same one, mind if I switch it out with your peavey. Sure of course, anyway I notice right away his turbo sound wedge (exact same unit) doesn't pop when I turn it off

Okay so then I do some research and discover on this site a review for the 15' version of this speaker and he's saying 2 of the 3 wedges he purchased all made this disturbing popping sound when he'd power them off just like me !!! He sent them back and got new ones

So I report this to sweet water tech who asks me to make an recording of the sound which I did. Then I ship all 3 monitors back to sweet water. A few months go by at which this point I'm having to rent wedges weekly from a local store to cover large groups. I finally get an email saying they couldn't reproduce the issue, blamed me the user for a likely grounding issue (total nonsense). I replied back pointing to the reviewer who had the exact same problem I'm having so it does exist as an issue.

They're sending the wedges back after months sitting doing nothing to them. So I guess I'll keep using them until they eventually blow. This I'm sure shortens the lifespan of the speakers

I have purchased PA gear from sweet water for many years and never had any issues. But I also rarely purchase speakers outside of a physical store. Having to ship them back was a nightmare and cost me a lot in boxes and foaming stuff. I also spent around a thousand dollars over the summer renting out additional wedges hoping each week would be the last

Totally disappointing

I bought 2 of these for my PA system. I'm a live sound engineer, and I work for bands that hirer me for gigs. I'm always in a new environment (mostly outdoors due to COVID). These monitors are pretty light and they are loud for their size. They are great for small spaces with the coaxial design. I've had metal/punk/rock bands that are really loud on stage and they've not let me down yet. All the bands compliment me on them being able to hear themselves very well in the monitors.

As I mentioned I've been using these outdoors and I'm in the desert. Since October of last year they have been dealing with dirt almost every gig I used them in. Cleaning them up is simple with some compressed air. So far they do not seem to be suffering ill effects, but I'll be glad when I can start doing more indoor gigs again and get away from the dirt.

I don't know what else to say about these. They just work and I never really have to dial these in for feedback even at high volume levels. I've had a few times where feedback was an issue, but with a quick notch or two they quiet back down.

Way too honky. Mid heavy. Good monitor for price but unbalanced sound. Causes you to eq instrument wrong if cant hear mains.

I bought 6 of these for a nonprofit theater not wanting to spend to much on some new stage monitors. Got them on a pretty significant sale and decided that they could be a good deal.

Initial impressions were that they are incredibly light and small, decent looking and the menu is easy to work in. The sound however... very inadequate. I would never pay full price for these...

I have listened to LOTS of stage monitors and powered speakers and while not being the cheapest($$) I have heard, these sound like the cheapest I have heard. Playing my standard test songs, none of the presets sound like anything you would want to use for stage monitors or main speakers. The dispersion is super narrow and the tone changes signifgantly off axis. Like many of these other reviews state, they get loud, incredibly loud. However, as volume increase the tone also changes. The high driver begins distorting long before the low driver has reached its full volume.

The first gig I used these on was outdoors. I had 5 of these across the front of the stage, one for each musician. With proper gain structure I struggled to get enough clarity out of them for some of the more particular musicians. On the other rig I frequent I never need to run my sends as hot as I did for this show. Despite being quite loud it was incredibly difficult to to get enough clarity at volume to satisfy the musicians.

TLDR
These sound cheap. You will need lots of tweaking to get the sound you want out of them. The effect of good off axis sound that you get in most coaxial monitors is nonexistent here, actually quite the opposite. If you are looking for small lightweight monitors (their greatest selling points imo), that are cheap and you don't expect much from go ahead and get these. If you need anything of decent quality, look elsewhere.

Loud and sounds perfect

After several minutes of trying to EQ a pair of these stage monitors, I was finally able to get the lead singer at our church to be happy enough to play through them, however, he asked that I return to using either my JBL PRX speakers or even the Harbinger speakers that were there before. In his words, they just sound cheap. No depth, and no real clarity - all mids.

Being a live sound engineer, I was a bit reluctant to purchase these. Reading what was on paper versus live element, you're not always going to get everything you read or spec'd from the MFG. However, I was so glad I did purchase them, they have been amazing and all the bands and musicians I had prior to Covid LOVED these on stage. Ringing out the room with these is somewhat troublesome (which is a good thing!) They are not as loud as my K12.2, but what they do offer is a smaller footprint and Coaxial speaker design which a lot of musicians like, they do get loud for even the most demanding guitar players and singers as well. I picked up 6 of these and love using them. Looking forward to picking a few more whenever they become available again.

During Covid, myself and my bud that front the Band, Ain't Dead Yet, stayed tight by doing shows as an unplugged duo. We put 2 of these TFX 122m"s from Sweetwater in front of us and brought them up and never eq'd the acoustic guitars or vocal mics..We looked at each other and big time smiled! Don't know how the top the line turbos could be any better.Have to save for that day! For now, Best monitor mix ever!

These are not just the worst monitor wedges I've ever used, in terms of reliability, but they are the worst audio product in general, in terms of reliability.

They sound decent though...when they work.

I got two of these for the band I work with on a regular basis. Of the three front guys (fiddle/vox, accordion/vox, guitar/vox) the accordion player is on IEMs so the fiddler and guitar got these monitors. They love them. The angle that they're built with works better for some of the smaller stages we play, and like others have said once they're "broken in" they seem to relax and sound fuller. I ordered some covers from Studioslips and I guess I was one of the first to order as they called and asked for measurement. The covers they sent worked out great. I'm very happy with these monitor and covers.

Got a pair of these for our band's rehearsal studio. They sound great and there is a lot to like about them. First, the low profile design improves sight lines. Second, the co-axial design creates a consistent sound front that doesn't change as you move (unlike woofer/horn designs). Finally, the built-in anti-feedback filters (using the DSP function) saved us from having to buy another dBx DriveRack for feedback control. Band members who are using our older wedges are now jealous!

I admit that I researched monitors for about a year while I saved up to replace the 7 different passive monitors on our church stage. I ordered 8 monitors, 4 12" & 4 15", to replace our old ones and have an extra. The difference was so great that when we used half of them for monitors and half for mains during a power outage I got more compliments on the sound that day then I have in a year or two.

The built in electronics are fantastic! It's nice to be able to make adjustments, set limits, etc. at each monitor and save the settings.

I will buy more in the future and strongly recommend these!

Love these monitor speakers. Plenty of headroom, and the concentric tweeters make them less directional. In fact, I like them so much that I ordered four more!

The Turbosound TFX122-AN is awesome. I got it last week and used it at a gig this past weekend.
It is the best sounding monitor I have ever heard.
The band I play with, we travel a lot and use house systems and big sound company's when we do festivals and stuff like that. I have used every kind of monitor they make.
when we play local we use our system and I bring the TFX122-AN
This thing tops them all.
It is light and has got all the power you need and a small foot print on stage and sounds great.

For the price you can’t beat this monitor for power and quality.

The only reason I discounted half a star is because they seem to be tough to get, and the user manual is a bit vague.

I bought this to work on Ultranet so I don't need to run power and audio cable to the front of stage. Easy set up and works great. I run Ultranet from a Midas MR18, also easy to set up and get running without much work and didn't even need to read either manual.

Super clean sound and capable of very high SPL levels. Now I realize how much my main active speakers are lacking and will soon have to be upgraded. I purchased two of them and standing between the two fills the air with so much sound, you can hear every detail even in the loudest environments. Nitish was great and is going to turn me into a music gear junkie.

Got two of these and been using them all summer. Loud and even sounding, have a small footprint, and seem to hold up well. Also has a greater vertical angle to it which helps placement. Only criticism is there's not a whole lot of bass but very happy with them.

I really liked this concept of new smaller powerful monitors with the DSP especially for feedback suppression.

They arrived and look great and fairly well built.

I'm using a Behringer x18 mixer and there's a lot to learn between these two matched components...imho.

The Turbosound feedback elimination is working some but I've had to get more involved.

The X18 is IOS, Android and PC controlled with different operating software...they don't look the same.

With the X18 android app there's an active rta 100 band eq that works great for ringing out the monitors.

The Ipad app doesn't have this feature and next I'll test this with my laptop.

Once I was able to read the 100 band eq it was a breeze to knock down a couple of hot frequencies and get good loud clear sound without feedback. Make sure to use a high and low pass filter for obvious reasons....it works great.

I read a comment about the speakers loosening up a little during breakin and there maybe something to this. They seem to be sounding better with use.

For those interested in the wireless mixers like the X18 I would suggest looking at the Midas product with better preamps (so they advertise). These also double for recording breakout boxes so I'm going to upgrade this at some point.

We use these for a classic rock/southern rock band in the West Palm Beach area.

My goal has been to reduce size, weight and bulk but retain performance. I think this are going to work out.

It would be really nice if Turbosound or some company built canvas clamshell covers as these will mark fairly easy. They are fiberboard something (?) instead of plastic...this is good.

Between two of these monitors and the X18 I can mic my Marshall 15 watt amp and create my own monitors mix with amp and vox and send it out to the board.

Or...just mix the whole band and send separate monitor mixes. We use these and a set of powered 15s as side fills.

The goal is full sound on stage at a lower volume......individual monitors mixes can really help and keep the backline volume lower.

So, yes I'd buy them again and am considering some Turbosound mains to match the system.

Overall I'd say the Turbosound speakers sound flat at first and then break in. After working to learning the technology and the sister matching X18 board I've reduced carrying a mixer and lightened the load.

1100 watts in these is crazy powerful with lots of headroom...I can't image the 2500 watt big brothers.

Help this helps as I'm one of the guys that pours over reviews to make the best decision possible.

Cool to be revamping as this is my fifth PA system over the years. I don't miss those CS 800's, monster PA speakers and Marshall stacks.

Very good choice when coming to choose monitor for band. I bought two tfx122-an for vocal monitors and singers were really happy! Loud and clear, feedback destroyer is a plus. It really help reducing feedback. Thinking buying more when my money allows

The Turbosound tfx122-an is very good and less prone to feedback. I am running the Midas M32 thru cat5 into the wedge - it give cleaner sound.

A friend of mine Mr.Roland had a set of these and I was so impressed w/ his that my small production company invested in one, and wow !! Great monitor never have I gotten so many compliments on monitor mixes from artists. Highly recommended.

I was looking for something light and self-powered and was intrigued by the coaxial design. I had owned a pair of EV coaxial monitors some years ago and was always impressed by the clarity they provided. I couldn’t find any reviews and very little discussion on the boards but I bit the bullet and picked up four of these this spring (2017) Overall, I’ve been impressed by their performance. Though they sounded odd out of the box after some use they began to open up and sounded solid. If you can, I’d recommend running pink noise through them for 24 hours to loosen the drivers.

I like the low profile and angle which puts the sound into the performers face because as we know if you position a mic stand back from a monitor with a steeper angle to optimize the sound hitting the performer they will without fail move the stand closer to the monitor. Now the horn is hitting them in the belly button and the request you turn up their mix. Ugh....

I bought these specifically for a club where the company I work for does a regular gig with national blues acts. It’s an awful sounding room with a large glass pane window directly behind the stage and a mirrored covered wall adjacent. As well as large windows on the outside wall. Think small gym. Anyone who has worked with these acts knows blues bands are loud as crap! These monitors have greatly reduced the reverb created by the glass because they are essentially pointed at the ceiling and not the back wall. I even got a big thumbs up from Victor Wainwright and a number of others over the performance of these monitors.

The only reason I don’t give these five stars is the lack of powercon or locking IEC cables. I would have gladly paid a few extra bucks for that. (I’ve had them kicked out on gigs) Also no gig bags and the finish is easy marked up. But for price and performance you’d be hard pressed to find it’s equal.

After seeing the TFM122M Flashline (passive) monitors onstage at a recent gig, I decided to order a pair of these for outdoor concerts this year. I've been using Turbosound iX12 and iX15s for monitors, and these fit in well with the other Turbosound products (I usually provide at least 3, and sometimes as many as 6 onstage mixes).
Musicians have consistently praised the sound quality, and I've never needed more output than these were able to provide.
My only caveat for buyers is that concrete stages & stairs can mar the plastic finish relatively easily, so get (or as I did, make) as travel case for these soon after you purchase.

I own a small production company in East Texas. I recently decided to get rid of my passive monitors and a heavy amp rack. I spent several months researching many different options. I couldn't find any reviews on this series of speaker, but finally decided to give them a try for a couple of reasons: Size and shape, and the Ethercon inputs for X32/M32. Several of the indoor venues I work at have small stages, and the size and shape of multi-use powered speakers (i.e. K12/PRX/etc.) make placement difficult. The angle of those speakers requires the vocalist to stand farther back, putting them nearly in the drumkit at some of these venues. Using a dedicated wedge allows me to place the vocalist closer to the speaker due to the coverage angle. Additionally, the coaxial design makes for a smaller wedge, and the Class D power onboard makes for a lighter one. I used four 12's up front and a 15 at the drums this past weekend at a club I work at weekly. They 12's seemed to perform well, and the band said they sounded better than my old setup. The 15" was lacking a little kick drum thump compared to my old setup. I use a D6/Beta 98a setup for FOH most of the time, so I put the Beta in the wedge (normally I just put the D6 in the wedge) for more attack, and that seemed to help. I will probably supplement with a powered 15" sub in the near future. On a separate production a couple of days prior, I turned two of the 12's on their sides and used as FOH vocal fills, and they sounded great for that as well.

These speakers definitely sound different than a traditional two way speaker with a separate horn, but after a little setup time, you can get a good balanced sound out of them. The onboard dsp is pretty intuitive, which is good, because the manual is not very useful. I have an X32/Midas DL32 setup, but I have not yet tried running these wedges via Ethercon. I'll get some cables ordered in the near future. Running Cat5e in a chain instead of separate XLR sends will help clean up the stage a lot.

So far, I am impressed. I'll provide an update after I've used them for a couple of months.

P.S. Norb was super helpful with answering my questions and getting this transaction going. The speakers were backordered at Turbosound for several weeks, but once they were in stock, I had them in two days. Super service! This was my first big Sweetwater purchase, but it surely won't be my last!
