Epiphone Thunderbird '64 Bass Guitar - Silver Mist Reviews
Epiphone is all about throwing it back to 1964 in grand style with this thundering Thunderbird ’64 Bass! Sweetwater looked into the specs of this bass, and we know vintage music lovers will find much to love about the classic Thunderbird body shape, 9-ply mahogany walnut neck, and Indian laurel fingerboard that all make for a supremely enjoyable playing experience. Bassists are also sure to find their groove with the sonics of this bass guitar thanks to the duo of ProBucker 760 humbuckers that dole out boisterous, thumping tone that’s right at home in rock ’n’ roll. This Thunderbird model is sure to bring honor to its legacy while bringing its build quality and electronics up to par with 21st-century bassist needs.

Killer 'Birds
What a fantastic instrument! Built like a tank (a LONG tank), finish is gorgeous and durable (I've already slammed it into stuff...did I say...it's BIG) and factory/Sweetwater set-up was a great place to begin. The nut is cut high, or not at all, otherwise set-up is a snap. Pickups required small adjust and they are lively. Thunderous and solid low-end, crystal mids and the high end of a Thunderbird sings. That massive head-stock and neck-through constuction make for superb sustain. The Gibson-branded strings are a solid choice (I will keep them, but I put LaBella Olinto flats on it for my taste) and all hardware is the quality Epiphone has brought in the last few years (decent, upgrade if you see fit...I will keep it). After a set-up and string change, this 'Bird is ready to go, can't WAIT to gig with it...many thanks to Sales Expert Franko Torres...he's fantastic to work w/ and understands working musicians. Another great Sweetwater experience~
