Holly moly!
I was looking at many hollow body electrics. I was leaning toward a classic Gibson ES335. I used to own one way back in the 1980s…I wasn't in the musical frame of mind to appreciate it then…today I do.
So I was about to pull the trigger here at Sweetwater, something told me to wait. I love Taylor guitars too, so I researched their T5z and I was smitten.
I ordered a T5z pro from Sweetwater. Exactly the sound I've been chasing. It's not an ES335 or Thinline Telecaster…all great tones. The T5z is has a quite unique and very inspiring tone all its own. I love it and am completely mesmerized.
Realistic acoustic tones, comfortable to play
I have other electrics that give me the variety of "electric" tones I want. But I needed a guitar that would deliver acoustic tones without sacrificing the playability of my electrics. I knew the minute that I plugged this guitar into a Fender Acoustic 100, using the soundboard setting, that I had just what I needed. Add the fact that the guitar is as beautiful as it is functional, and I had to add it to my little collection.
Excellent changes to T5
This guitar is so versatile. I've owned T5's before but none as fine as this version. Wood combination, neck body balance, fit and finish all excellent. And it can growl. Nice job Taylor!
