Taylor Limited-edition T5z-12 Classic Deluxe Reverse-strung 12-string Hollowbody Electric Guitar - Cherry Sunburst Reviews

Reverse-strung 12-string Hollowbody Electric Guitar with Mahogany Top, Sapele Back and Sides, Mahogany Neck, and Ebony Fingerboard - Cherry Sunburst

Fresh from Taylor, this Limited-edition T5z-12 Classic Deluxe reverse-strung 12-string hollowbody electric guitar takes a winning hollowbody platform to custom heights with solid tonewoods, elegant hardware, and a reverse-strung setup for enhanced 12-string playability. Of course, it also has everything players love about the standard T5z-12 — namely, humbucking and acoustic pickups, a thin ergonomic body carve, and a silky string feel that’s out of this world. When plugging in, the mellow warmth of the Limited-edition T5z-12’s mahogany top fills rooms with midrange presence that smooths over the prickly highs of 12-string tone. This limited edition’s back and sides are made from solid sapele, which vibrates with rich sonic support for the T5z-12’s hybrid electronic system. Fans of 12-string guitars will find the T5z-12’s soft action incredibly easy on hands with a supple 24.875-inch scale ebony fingerboard and comfortable modern carved mahogany neck. For discerning players eager to own a game-changing 12-string electric guitar, a Taylor Limited-edition T5z-12 Classic Deluxe reverse-strung 12-string hollowbody from Sweetwater is the ultimate choice!

Not Great!

By Tom Del Corro from Wake Forest, NC on December 13, 2023 Music Background: Gigging musician

I bought the new T5z-12 Classic Deluxe 12-string Guitar in Black 4 months ago. My main issues with this 12-string guitar are its narrow nut width (1.68"), its very close string spacing, & its and smaller than normal 12-string headstock which makes it very tight for restringing and tuning. The smaller headstock looks great and helps with the overall balance of the guitar, but the machine heads are too close together. I changed the stock electric strings to acoustic strings which gave the guitar a warmer sound. The reverse tuning gives the guitar a unique sound, but it takes a little getting used to in terms of strumming and picking patterns. I like the size and weight of the guitar, and the protective hardshell case is excellent.
