Love this guitar!!
First I must say that the photos do not show the beauty of this guitar when you get your hands on it. I am an intermediate home player and probably do not need this, but I can't put it down. The comfort, with the light weight, and the body size allows me to play for hours. The acoustic tone is perfect as I bought a Twin City ABY based on recommendations so I can use my acoustasonic Fender for the acoustics and switch to the Marshall for the electric. I am not a great player but this is so much fun to find the different tones that it makes me feel like a better player (you would have to ask my audience of two dogs for their opinion on that). My other guitars are getting ignored since this beauty arrived. So easy to play, barre chords are easier,and I love the neck on this as it fits my smaller hand perfectly. I honestly thought I had conquered GAS, but this one guitar may be the last one I need (seriously, don't laugh). If you are on the fence about this particular mahogany and sapele, there are no regrets from this guitar lover. Andy Powers and Taylor employees, thank you and you have made this guitar crazy person very happy.
Loved my T5, Love The T5z More!
I've played the T5 for over 12 years never finding another guitar as good for my style and sound. Well, that changed with the T5z. The smaller, slimmer, contoured body fits perfectly and evokes Strat-like feel. That sensation continues with the new neck shape. The larger radius encourages electric guitar play. The jumbo frets complete the overall feel and are the perfect improvement to complete this redesign. This T5z produces tones like my T5 with more sustain and better electronics. The tone of the tropical mahogany is slightly darker with the lows replicating a bass guitar so beautifully that an audience member asked if I had looped in a bass run. I can't wait for the wood to age and the tones to get even richer than they are. DEFINITELY my new favorite guitar! Come catch one of my shows in Sedona and hear "Maggie" for yourself.
Taylor T5z Classic Deluxe Guitar
I bought this guitar for my Husband who is the musician in the family. He loves it. The sound is incredible. He plays for our church and practices at home with a professional musician and friend who comes over to help him with his chords and such.
Our friend is also very impressed with this guitar and loves to play it himself. It is not only beautiful but came ready to play which was so incredible. The tones are so rich and he can switch around to play whatever type of music he is in the mood for. The video that was sent that he watched was also very helpful. Thanks so much! I would recommend this particular guitar to anyone who wants to make beautiful music.
Love this Guitar!
First a shout out to Logan Wheaton he did a fabulous job in directing me to the perfect guitar. When I opened the box (btw packaging was superb) it took my breath away. The playability of this T5Z has been absolutely a dream. I've only been playing for three years and believe it or not this guitar has dramatically improved my ability. On a side note my wife loves the sound it creates (it couldn't be me)Could not be happier!
No axe to grind
What a great guitar. The versatility and beautiful finish really stand out. So many sound options are possible. I have a fender strat but I wanted something different that provided sound options and a clear and crisp punch. This one fits the bill. My sales engineer is Brent who knows his stuff and will work with you and answer questions. The shipping process is as good as it gets with superior protective wrapping of your instrument. My delivery was on the day it was promised and my guitar was without flaw. This is a fun and well crafted guitar that is light in weight. Thanks Brent!
Versatile Taylor T5Z
After 10 days I'm very pleased with Sweetwater service and my new Taylor T5Z. So far it is everything I hoped it would be; very high build quality, very versatile tone shaping, and it plays like an electric. This is the first in 65 years that I purchased a guitar without playing it first, but thanks to David Yanes and Sweetwater it's been a very pleasant buying experience.

A Beautiful Instrument
I got this guitar back in April and have been steadily using it ever since. I just finished recording and producing my first album and I can say with pride that every single acoustic sound (and even some of the heavier electric tones) came from this guitar! It's extremely versatile in what it can do, and it never ceases to amaze me.
Best Tonal Coloring Guitar Ever
This Taylor has to be played to believe. I don't think it really replaces a full acoustic nor a solid body electric, if you're totally pre-disposed that way. At the same time, it provides any guitarist who wants to creatively explore the range of tones anywhere and everywhere and all around the potential for sounds that are jsut not achievable with either an acoustic or an electric. It is exceptionally versatile for recording 'direct-in', and is loud enough to be mic'ed, if desired as well. Again, it may not be for everyone, but if I could only have one guitar this would be the one. I, personally, find it a wonderful supplement to my acoustic and as more of an acoustic player, I really enjoy the jazzy electric and other tones this beauty can help me to keep discovering every time I pick it up!

Plug it in and amaze your ears
I chose the deluxe model over the classic, as much for the hard shell case as the gloss coating. I'm really happy with the choice. This is a truly beautiful instrument. Even more beautiful is the tone I am hearing as I work with the instrument in my PA. The only issue I would raise is balance; the neck being so much heavier than the body, it takes some getting used to.

I was really looking forward to receiving this guitar. The day finally arrived, I open the carton to find a
$2000.00 guitar in a fabric bag and not a hard case. I was a little disappointed , but other than that
I am enjoying the guitar. Next time I'll read the small print
