Tripod Excellence

By Eric G. from Lutz, FL

If you have to have a tripod that will withstand a nuclear airburst, this is the one. Every piece of it is over engineered and rendered in substantial, high quality materials. The weight of the assembly ensures stability. This is the Rolls Royce of tripods. Highly recommended.

Best mic stand ever

By JOHN from TX
Music Background: Former band leader, fusion jazz, blues, hard rock, heavy metal, prog metal, guitarist, bassist, vocalist 60+ years experience

I've always used Sampson and On-Stage stands in the past for my bands and my studio but they didn't like large diaphragm condenser mics on booms. I used to have to place scuba weights on the opposing legs to keep them from tipping over. Of course I could probably buy close to 20 of those stands for the price of one Traid-Orbit stand but at least with the T-O, I don't have to carry around a half dozen scuba weights. This stand also beats those other stands when it comes to floor footprint on small stages. I can put a Blue Bottle mic on the boom arm and extend the boom to full length without adding counterweights.

Also changing mics is a snap, with those quick disconnect fixtures. In the middle of a gig if a mic fails or just doesn't sound right for the job, swapping mics is done in seconds without fumbling around screwing in a different sized mic holder. I used to go through about 10 of the cheaper stands a year even with just light to medium gig schedules. Plus the mic holders would always break at the most inopportune times. I used to replace dozens of those a year.

Now I no longer am the band leader so all I need to do is supply stands for my mic and for my guitar cab so I'm sporting the T-O stands and bandmates are jealous. Plus I will be replacing the stands in my studio with T-Os as the old ones wear out or break.

I was torn between these stands and Latch Lake stands, I chose these because the tripod legs on the T-O are shorter than the Latch Lakes and the price is nicer too! I appreciate not have to trip over mic stand legs.

This are the best!

By JD from Miami
Music Background: Music Producer /Recording studio

The best stand I have seen and used. The weight is ideal. The system is incredible well thought. I saw the company back in Namm earlier this year and had them in mind until it was time for me to get some stand... Wow... This was actually my second one....in the last 2 months. it is really good... Now, do your numbers, it is a modular system and it could get expensive... :) but well worth it.

Great Stand

By B. R. from Orange County, California
Music Background: Multi-Instrumentalist, Producer, Engineer

Triad-Orbit is changing how I think about mic stands. After discovering them here at Sweetwater.com and seeing them at NAMM 2017, I was convinced that I needed to own and support this company. The T3 is a monster mic stand, sturdy enough to handle multiple Large Condenser microphones on an Orbit 2X/02X, tall enough to mic 10+ feet off the ground, and has built in caster slots if you want to get wheels for this stand, and roll it around. Combined with some Micro 1/M1 adapters, and the Orbit 2X/02X I've become much happier when setting up for a recording session, and it's a constant conversation starter when people see this thing set up in the tracking room over a drum set, or dual mic'ing a guitar cab.

Highly recommended for anyone serious about recording and saving time on the front end. Buy the adapters and see how much time can be saved when auditioning different microphones.

More Than A Mic Stand

By Bill from Helendale, CA
Music Background: Singer, musician and recordist

You won't believe how robust this stand is. They say you can tilt it; it's true because the thing is so well balanced, it refuses to budge. On top of that, it's incredibly adjustable. This has become my go-to mic stand.

Best Tripod on the Market

By Daniel H. from Boulder, CO

My first Triad-Orbit stand was a T2, and I was happy with it but looking for something a little taller for location recordings (choirs & orchestras). Now that I own a T3, I wish I'd bought it from the beginning. It's not just a higher T2; it's a completely different stand. It's bigger (wider diameter), heavier, more stable, and air-cushioned.

I've used it with 3 (!) T-ES extensions to get single SDC microphones up to 12' in the air; I wouldn't necessarily endorse that use, but it's definitely possible. While it's not as stable as a lighting stand, the tripod base is lower-profile in regards to visibility/distraction, which is a big consideration for location recordings. The air-cushioning is huge; now that I'm used to that, I can't believe I put expensive mics on stands without it. The only drawback is now that I'm using air-cushioned stands exclusively, I've forgotten that other stands don't have it, and I've had a few mics come down too quickly when working with other people's gear. What can I say, I'm spoiled now.

Great gear

By Bob M.

Okay, so they cost more than your standard mic stand, but keep in mind, they're much more than just a mic stand. Triad-Orbit have created a fantastic modular system for you to use—not only for your mics—but your cameras and lights, too—and who knows what else. All of the modular pieces are solid, sturdy, and easily adaptable to any angle. But, my favorite thing, now that I have a Triad-Orbit hex adapter on each one of my mics, is how easy I can change out mics without the fuss of unscrewing and rescrewing a mic holder. Of course, the downside to this system is that you'll want more pieces—but that's a good thing.

best stand ever

By Sweetwater Customer from San Francisco Calif.

I've had many and worked with diff mic stands over the years. Triad-Orbit has to be the best in the world at making great microphone stands.
Makes sense , some mics are well over a few grand, we should have a stand that looks and works as well as the Triad-Orbit stands.

Thanks again, David

Triad-Orbit stands are the Bomb!

By Terry D. from Lancaster, OH
Music Background: Professional Recording Engineer and active Bassist.

I had seen these in the catalogs over the past few months, but they were VERY expensive, and I wasn't sure I wanted to make the investment. The videos I'd seen of the stands in use "looked" intriguing, but I still held off...then I got to see them "in person" at Summer NAMM in Nashville - WOW! These things are industrial strength, and nothing works as well IMHO. I bought a T3, O2X, an I/O-C clamping mount, and some M1 angling mic mounts - this combination allows me to use the system to do a Decca Tree with one stand for my classical remote work, but the O2X may just better get most flexible drum overhead system I've ever used! The ball mount system allows flexibility in placement that I've never had before. My recommendation is - if your utilizing the usual complement of On-Stage and K&M mic stands with booms, save your money - purchase these T2 and T3 tripods instead, and get a couple of O2's or O2X's - you'll end up with multiple kinds of booms to use with the tripods, although with the articulating legs, you may not NEED booms...they weigh a TON, but they WON'T fall over - they'll support anything you want/need to put in the air. They're simply the best mic stands made at this time - PERIOD. EVERY studio I visited during NAMM weekend in Nashvilke is now using these stands - join in with the "big guys"! They're worth every penny to me...

If you don't mind the weight, can't beat it! Period!

By Wes N. from Martha's Vineyard,

Bought all three models to use live (with booms and quick release tops)This is the rock steadiest, easiest to adjust and not slip stand on the market. I know, I own them all. This is more suited for a studio or club install, they are heavy, really heavy to lug around on a daily basis, but on the live gigs I've used them all, they totally rock. With limited space on stage, the adjustable tripod feet feature is killer, especially miking drums!
you won't be disappointed!
