Supro Drive Pedal with Expression Pedal Control Reviews

Overdrive Pedal with True Bypass Switching and TRS Expression Pedal Port

For classic Supro breakup that won't break your budget, check out the Supro Drive from Supro USA. This classic overdrive pedal by Thomas Elliott faithfully mimics the circuitry of the output section of a 1960s Supro amplifier - phase inverter, Class A power amp, and output transformer - for an authentic reproduction of one of the most sought-after tones in the biz. The Supro Drive even lets you control a custom gain range with an expression pedal for cranking up on the fly without losing your sweet spot - great for solos. The Supro Drive is housed in a durable brushed aluminum chassis with a studio-quiet true bypass switching system.

Stairway to Classic Rock Heaven

By Billy Hale from wa on March 11, 2018 Music Background: Optional

What can you say about Sweetwater and the level of customer service? Top notch for years and still the go to one. Owner of the Coronado 35 watt 2x10 I'm ready for stage but too much for a home studio. I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this little blue box. What is this company doing to make killer gear in this age of cold synthetic simulation? Engaging the Supro Overdrive make the tone and volume nobs on the guitar work in a way I have never experienced in almost 45 years of rock. Wtf? Is this an amp or a stomp box? I have tried a 1970's Ibanez Les Paul, custom-made Tele and a $300 Epiphone Royal so far with stellar results. I have a 1969 echoplex that might make this classic rock
experience complete.

Amazing Tone

By Jason Haxton from Cameron Park, CA on July 23, 2016

I couldn't yet afford a Supro amp, so I chose this pedal. I was not disappointed in the least. I plugged in an 18v power supply and put this in front of a Roland JC-40 and the tone is absolutely stellar! Great vintage tone range, but I've mostly been playing it with the gain on 10 so far :) Also, the switch is ultra quiet, which is important to me.

Great dirt box...

By Randall from Fort Wayne on September 29, 2016 Music Background: Been playing longer than I care to admit

Really great overdrive. Works superbly with a clean or driven amp. Stacks with other pedals better than nearly any dirt box I've owned. Don't let the overdrive nomenclature fool you, it gets heavy, especially when pushed with another milder drive. Even on its own, it can get into fuzz territory. At first, running it in 9-volt mode, it was very nice, but a bit meh. As soon as I switched it to 18 volts, it was a whole other world... bolder, louder, more refined, and just all around more powerful and glorious. Has a great feel and is very responsive to your guitar's volume. Definitely a five-star pedal, but, and there's usually a but, there can be a touch too much bottom end at times, which the tone control can't dial out. Don't let that discourage you, it's not much, and sometimes is a welcomed addition, but I do wish there was a way to control it, with either an adjustable hp filter (ideally), or a switch for a slight roll off below 120 hZ. Just to be clear, even with the tiniest complaint, I'd buy it again and again as is.
