Look, Up on the Boom Pole!
Though it was originally designed specifically for shorter Rode NTG models, the Rycote Super-Blimp Kit actually fits any shotgun mic with a length less than 280mm (11 inches) and a diameter between 19–25mm (.75–.98 inches). It’s slimmer and weighs less compared to most blimps, which you’ll appreciate during long shooting days. The internal RF-shielded Shortie XLR cable is the same found on Rycote’s flagship Cyclone series, and the company's patented Lyre technology also makes an appearance inside for excellent mic suspension and noise reduction. Speaking of noise reduction, Rycote’s basket windshields already set the standard for wind energy dispersion; however, should you need more, the Super-Blimp Kit also comes with a medium Rycote Super-Shield Windjammer. Other super touches include a 3/8-inch boom pole adapter, a pistol grip handle for handheld use, an offset XLR adapter outside the shield, and quick-release windshield pods that let you access the mic faster than a speeding bullet. Note: This Super-Blimp Kit is designed for the Rode NTG-1 through Rode NTG-4+ models; it does not fit the Rode NTG-5. Please consult your Sweetwater Sales Engineer for more details about which mics are compatible with the Rycote Super-Blimp.
