Great Product!
Really digging the high quality drum sounds and flexibility that Toontrack allows you in Superior Drummer 3 when compared to other drum plugins and Toontracks own EZ Drums.
Wow, what a difference!
I have been using EZDrummer for years. Finally upgraded to Superior Drummer 3. Sound quality is sooo much better and the addons have so much more to add than just MIDI. Great job ToonTracks!
It really is Superior!
I am a home studio recording engineer and have limited space to work in. I could have bought an electronic drum kit and used it as a trigger but instead I went with EZ Drummer 2 which was nice for setting beats for my music creation and recordings. With Superior Drummer 3 "everything" you loved with EZ 2 is customizable (if you want to) and the choices of Drums made SD3 the right choice for me. You can spend the same money assembling a great drum kit with mics to record it as you will spend on SD3. Finally, Professionals have recorded these sounds for me to use and take advantage of their years of experience they have in the recording field. I would definitely make this purchase again and have no regrets at all. Hey I'm no tech wiz so If I can use SD3 then so can you!
Fantastic
I tried EZ Drummer for a year and loved it. The one thing I didn't like was having to edit Midi in the DAW.
Superior Drummer is ... superior. Midi editor, bigger and better sample, more comprehensive kits, great drummers...
Just get it. All the real drummers I know use it.
2021 Toontrack Superior Drummer 3 Review
A lot to soak in and learn, but I am really amazed at the amount of detail put into these Modeling applications.
Anyone could spend hours upon hours tweaking very realistic drums sounds and tones.
EZ2 to SD3 Crossgrade
This was a wise decision for me. It provides the ability to change the Alesis DM10 CC4 settings, which was not an option with EZ2. The flexibility is greatly improved with SD3. Very happy with the crossgrade. SD3 includes a wide variety of options
Amazing
I had EZ Drummer, which is great, but very limited. I absolutely love that I can very easily program my own beats with Superior Drummer. The diversity of different drum kits available gives it the ability to be used for any music style. Using Superior Drummer is easier than lugging around a drum kit. It is very user friendly.
Just wow
First I want to tell you that your sales technician Skyler is a knowledgeable and amazing guy!!again shout out to Skyler!Superior drums three is amazing I am still getting use to it siting in in the mix when you've been working with electronic drums and just pseudo drum machines this program is amazing and I'm onlyI'm not used to hearing real drums again so it's hard for me to put it in the mix but I'm getting there and my track sounds so real now thank you guys you did well bravo!
OMG
Andy at Sweetwater turned me on to EZ Drummer. I thought it was amazing. I used it for about 2 weeks, bought a bunch of EZX and MIDI packs and was loving the sounds I was getting. Then I started running into wanting to tweak things more and more to fine tune (since I'm using e-drums on the final product). I spent a few days researching whether the crossgrade was worth it. Most people said "yes". One reviewer said "Superior Drums is.... Superior". Boy was he right! At first you kind of think the SD sounds a little flat compared to EZ Drums. That's true... but that's the point. The files are more raw so YOU can work with them. Then you spend 2 weeks with no sleep, your wife never see's you, you watch a million hours of Youtube video's on how to work with this beast, and then your tracks sound like you are pretty much the best drummer that you could ever hope to have playing on your tracks. This software is amazing. The company is awesome... There are forums with responsive members to help you out, Toontrack listens to their users and will implement updates based on suggestions, and the SOUND of this thing is incredible. The attention to detail and processes that they went through in producing this is commendable.
Expect to be addicted and spend about $1,500 on the software and then adding SDX and MIDI packs... because it's fun and gives you so many options. But.... as it is... you could also have all of the options you will ever need in the stock software. I am completely addicted to this thing.... and I am ok with that.
So much fun
Great product I can jam for hours! It sounds great and is surprisingly very simple to use!
Simply the Best
Ok, I'm going to keep this short. I have Slate Drums. I have EZ Drummer 2. They are both good, real good. However, they do not compare to Superior Drummer 3. I don't think anything does. I doubt anything can. If you just want some really decent sounding drums to put on your tracks, you can pick any program you want. If you want drums that sound as real as if you recorded them yourself, (assuming you had a multi-million dollar studio, the best drum mics in the world, the best sounding drum kits in the world and the know how to do it), then get SD3. It will take some time to learn everything it can do, but if you are SERIOUS about producing the BEST drum tracks you possibly can, Superior Drummer 3 is your ONLY CHOICE.
MY VERY OWN DRUMMER
Toontrack! Superior drummer 3 is probably one of the best programs I own. I call my drummer on the phone and he tells what drums, symbols and rolls to put in my songs. Use it my songwriting every day! Sometimes I even open it just to listen to the beats and see what pops in my head.
Awesome
Upgraded to Superior Drummer 3 from Ez Drummer 2 cause I was having problems with the Alesia Mesh Kit to activate the cymbal choke. I learned searching the web that Ez Drummer for some reason was not compatible yet with Alesis Choke triggers so I took the jump to the Superior line.
No complaints so far, I was able to make the cymbal choke to work and the the sound I get with Superior Drummer 3, well it is in fact Superior!
Im happy with this upgrade and the best thing is that you don't loose your Ez Drummer expansions cause they work with Superior Drummer 3!
Don't wait and upgrade! It is really worth it!
SD3
SP3 is the pinnacle of virtual drumming software. Toontrack hit it out of the park with V3!
Just that
ToonTracks Supperior Drummer 3 is exactly that. Supperior !
And beyond !
Superior drummer 3
Awesome samples looking forward to using them in my future recordings
WOW!!!
The best way to describe SD3.0 is this. SD2.0 was so good that I often thought that if they created a newer version (SD3.0) that it would have to be something unbelievably awesome. Well, it is exactly that. I can layer two or more sounds and trigger them on my TD-30 module. It has the most incredible sounds and everything is very user friendly. Great job guys.
Superior Drummer 3 is amazing!
Superior Drummer 3 is an incredible piece of software! The kit pre sets are mix ready and the drum grid editor is amazing and easy to use! The software is intuitive and really streamlines the song writing process. I"m very happy to have invested in Superior Drummer 3 and as always Sweetwater rocks!!!
Best product for songwriting.
I was floored by the ease of use in one minute I had already found a great beat and was creating a song. The best product in my opinion to serious songwriters. I'm not going to sugarcoat this. Its dam expensive, and it took 2 days to load 230 GB but the precision that I have now is accuracy, sound, and fun. I've got my inspiration back.
If you want to go the distance
EZ Drummer 2.0 is a great product. I "crossgraded" to SD3 solely for the grid editor. Not joking at all.
SD3 has a vast sea of the highest quality studio drum sounds. So much so that you can go on for hours and hours to reach any and every exact sound or mix you want. Honestly, the price of the "crossgrade" is amazing when you consider how much went into this software. But for my story, we must travel to a time long ago, when dinosaurs roamed the earth and when programming my ancient drum machine meant day after day of frustration that would end with a drum track that not only sounded bad, but also was never completely what I wanted for the song...even if it was just a demo. Programming fills was a nightmare! And once again, the drums sounded digital regardless of which drum machine I used(I had several).
Fast forward to Superior Drummer 3.
If I want Neil Peart playing on the song, done. If I want Vinnie Paul playing on the song, done. It goes as far as you go with it. Once you get past the fact the drums are highest end studio quality, you can step into the grid editor and program the exact beats you wish in an editor that, for me, is light years above the old days of the drum machine horrors. I have enjoyed every step of the experience. If you haven't been down the rabbit hole of past drum machines, or you have never played drums, you can still arrive at an amazing product without ever venturing into grid editing. But, if you have something in your head and you want that exact idea tracked out, you can finally do it with Superior Drummer 3.
Superior Drummer 3
A real joy. Can't recommend more highly.
Just Awesome
The drums sound incredible! Truly studio quality... as good as it gets. The interface is intuitive and building great sounding grooves has never been easier for me. I just can't say enough about how great this package is. Waaaaay better than Slate drums. Thanks to Patrick at Sweetwater for steering me in the right direction.
State of the art superior
It's just really good. Really easy. Sounds great. Feature packed. Worth it.
Toontrack Superior Drummer 3
Who need`s a drummer when you have Toontrack Superior Drummer 3 ?
It`s like EZdrummer 2 on stéroïdes
It`s everything I was hoping for and more the only draw back is now I wanna redo all the drums of my original songs lol
Awesome !
The best upgrade you can do to your kit . Unreal sound and flexibility .
I'm very impressed with this product .
Creativity
Great sound and so many nuances in getting the sound you want. Very large file to download 328g.
Exellent !!!
This is by far the best drum software on the market hands down and I own most of them !!! I play these with my Vdrum kit and the dynamics are outstanding !!
It's give you higher quality
and more control over your drum arrangements, but I so far prefer just using EZ Drummer. I am a vocalist who plays guitar, bass and some keys. I write original hard rock and rock music as a solo artist and record it in my own studio I've built. I honestly prefer the simplicity of using EZ Drummer and adjusting the levels and effects it has, instead of the in depth modifications of Superior Drummer. And this is the problem with software. You have to buy into the hype and marketing, read the reviews and than spin the wheel and take a gamble whether it will be useful. Because you can't return it. It's a high quality program, but you may not need it. Or like it better.
oh well
Can't get it to work with my TD-27.
21 Hours of Download for inferior quality.
Garbage. Useless. Quite possibly the second worst money I've ever spent with Sweetwater. The first being buying EZDrummer 2.0 in the first place.
