XMAX Pres in an Ultra-portable USB-C Interface

Loaded with two sweet-sounding XMAX-L preamps, the PreSonus Studio 24c is tailor-made for solo vocalists/rappers, mobile musicians, guitarists, podcasters, and livestreaming. Beyond that, two rear-panel line outputs make connecting a set of studio monitors easy. You also get MIDI I/O for your keyboard controller, so working with virtual instruments is a breeze. Experience low-latency monitoring thanks to the Studio 24c’s mixer knob. If you’re just getting started with recording, the PreSonus Studio 24c will give you everything you need to hit the ground running — just add music! Take it from Sweetwater: No matter what kind of recording you do, the PreSonus Studio 24c USB-C audio interface will exceed your expectations.

Award-winning XMAX preamps onboard

Ever since PreSonus’s first-generation XMAX preamps hit the market, Sweetwater engineers have been huge fans of their naturally warm and vibrant sound. The Studio 24c showcases the new solid-state XMAX-L preamp generation. These pres still offer the signature sound. At the same time, they can be impressively clear. Just pull back the gain a little, and you’ll still have loads of volume with plenty of headroom to spare.

Professional-level digital resolution available

Speaking of headroom, thanks to the Studio 24c’s high-quality digital converters, you get an impressive 115dB of dynamic range that allows you to capture every nuance and sonic detail of your source. What’s more, these converters are capable of operating at up to 192kHz resolution, allowing you to go well past the 96kHz of professional studio work and future-proof your recordings for the high-quality standards yet to come. In other words, whether you need ultra-high-resolution audio for sound-design work or simply want to capture your recordings in the greatest possible sonic detail, your Studio 24c is ready for the job.

MIDI I/O offers extended hardware control

Need to hook up MIDI gear? Your Studio 24c has that covered too. It lets you connect everything from old-school controller keyboards to modern digitally controlled guitar amps, all via a set of traditional 5-pin MIDI ports. Simple, foolproof, and easy to use, you’ll be amazed at how often these connections prove to be useful.

An Upgrade to Studio One With USB C Hardware
I needed an upgrade/extra copy to my older version of Studio One DAW. With this purchase of the hardware you receive the new Fender Studio One Pro Demo download for about 6 months. I will purchase the full package then. The USB hardware is great. It seems an improvement over the older units I have. Especially, the input and output meters. Anyway, my Sales Engineer Josh Hacker at Sweetwater is the best. I can call on him for products that I need and he makes that happen immediately with my account. Keep up the good work Josh and I always look forward to doing business with Sweetwater.
A great upgrade
My first Prosonus was bought in 2015, and has been a trusty workhorse. While it worked great, it was getting a bit tired, and all my computers have been upgraded to USB-C and I was tired of finding drivers for my windows machine for it.
I bought this as a direct replacement, and it is a nice upgrade. Power comes from the USB-C connection, so I got to lose a power supply. Bonus!
It sounds great, it was trivial to set up with my DAW (Ableton), and I also use it with IK Multimedia's Amplitube software. It provides latency free tracking, and it is very quiet.
it works great
Period impressed with this interface i personalize works well and I can actually see implic signal which is very cool

It works fine.
I bought this to replace my PreSonus USB which I've had for many years but has been discontinued. For me, it was just a case of pulling the wires out of the old one and plugging them into the new. Just that simple and it took less than 10 minutes.
Music background: Semi-professional or professional musician for 60 years
Usbc. Great logical knob layout. Super ipad air 11 connectivity.

I use this with synthesizer keyboards and also play you tubes via usbc and ipad, to powered stage monitors. This set up works good. Be sure to use very high quality cables to ensure that you don't get a lot of popping sounds thru your speakers (especially other people's speakers -foh). Clean connections will result in a cleaner final sound.

This Presonus studio 24c effortlessly connected to my ipad air 11 m2. Korg Gadget 2 connected immediately with sound going from the Yamaha synthesizer thru the studio 24c and out thru the powered speakers connected with trs cables. Zero hassles.

Working with the studio 24c is extremely easy. The layout of knobs is ergonomic and the knobs are very easy to turn with plenty of room around each knob so as not to feel cramped. The top left control knob is the input gain control for channel 1 and the top right knob is the main output volume control. Very simple, intuitive, and ergonomic when interfacing with this unit.

I added a Presonus Microstation 2.1 bt ($). This is a small usbc 2 channel speaker volume and muting unit with Bluetooth connectivity that also has rca and 1/4" outs for connecting a subwoofer (with subwoofer defeat button). The 'mute' button is very useful with this kind of set up, located after the interface and before the powered speakers. The mute switch protects the expensive powered speakers from static pops and other noises when it is inconvenient to switch off the power to the powered speakers. Static pops can be damaging. The mute button is a quick and easy way to ensure your expensive speakers are protected from static noise introduced when shuffling effects units around, unplugging guitars, etc. Especially static noise produced when unplugging guitars plugged into the system. These pops can be very loud and disturbing, plus expensive.

Few simple interfaces of this type have dedicated 'mute' buttons. Guitar players are aware of the static noise to be expected when unplugging a guitar and with integrated usb music performance systems like this, similar static noises can be expected to come from other connected usb components, the ipad system switching, and other digital sources of switching noise. A mute button is a good idea. This is a different kind of thing than plugging the guitar directly into an amp that is specifically designed for a guitar. Guitar amps have stand by switches, often, because of this.

Most interfaces do not have dedicated mute switches. This is a great interface nevertheless because it is great design that is easy to use.

To most successfully and easily get up and running with this technology it is advisable to use the correct cables and components of very excellent quality. You want to keep the noise down in this way. Plan to use usbc connectivity and take advantage of the advanced usbc technology. You want to connect everything and have the system fire immediately up and recognize everything without any hassles. This is the way it is supposed to be. If it doesn't set up and connect effortlessly then something is wrong. Check everything. Don't expect anyone locally to know anything about what is going on with this - much less problem solving regarding these matters.

Hint: use the correct components in your system with attention to acquiring very high quality trs cables.
