Such a beautiful piece of gear to upgrade my modular rack

By John L. from Anchorage, AK
Music Background: audio engineer, guitarist, modular synth enthusiast

First off, I don't know why I thought it would be bigger. I guess in my head I was imagining 5u modules and forgot how big 3u modules are. But anyway. Its not as heavy as I would have liked but I am sure that is going to change as soon as I fill her up with all of my modules. The construction itself is top tier and the finish on it looks absolutely wonderful. I don't think pictures do it justice. It's just very tastefully done. I ran my modules through modulargrid to see how much power they were gonna draw and boy does this rack have plenty. I don't think power is ever going to be a problem with this case. Also I don't know what that other guy was talking about in regards to the screws. They are just fine. Don't overtighten things maybe? I don't know, you do you. Anyway, I am gonna get back to bleeping and blooping, I just thought that you, perspective buyer, that this is a great case that is well worth the money. Pitt did a great job and they have excellent attention to detail. Cheers!

Poor QC. Replaced 3 times upon receipt of shipment. Cheap components.

By Bob from DC

When they assemble these, they "lock" the sliding nuts on the rails prior to installing the rail assembly into the case using really cheap screws. In my case, it was overtightened so much that the screw went into the back of the rail. Since the screw is cheap, the front of the screw has these sharp edges that dug into the back of the rail. Essentially locking it into the place. You can see in the photos that marring even on the top of the rail. The result? When you go to unscrew the screw, the top of the screw broke off making it unusable. I tried to remove the slide nut, but the way the screw broke, the screw shaft was locked into the bottom of the rail making it so that you couldn't move it.

Monster Sized Case With A Combined 17 Amps Of Clean, Quiet Power!

By Mr. M.

Plenty of space for future expansion. I'm very impressed with this solidly built case. The bottom row is extremely deep which is great for all of those long, oversized modules (Elby Designs, Doepfer, etc). Pittsburgh Modular continuously makes innovative and high quality Eurorack gear. I found it was quite easy to remove the default square nuts (Size M4) and add my own (I prefer working with M2.5). Simply remove 6 screws and the entire 420HP vector rail assembly slides out as one solid piece for easy access.

Perfect

By Polipopo from Missouri

I learned really fast that getting into modular you're going to need plenty of space and power, this case is Perfect and has plenty of room for you to grow into.

Fantastic build quality

By Freddy D.
Music Background: Making Car Alarm Sounds

Built like a tank and it's huge!

Only two minor complaints,

There is so much packaging came with it but, who can really complain about their item getting to its destination safely?

Also the screw holes for my modules on the case seem to be a bit smaller than that on my doepfer case so I have to use the provided screws that came with it. They provide more than enough screws, three full bags of tons of em!

Came with stickers, extra power cables, everything I needed to get patching and even Sweetwaters signature special, candy!

The sales team was really helpful with this order and I am grateful to have this in my studio.

beautiful and powerful

By Matthew C. from Texas
Music Background: Provider of dark magik

For this price you"ll receive 420 HP and a lot of aesthetics with plenty of power.

I took a 15/16 paddle bit from Home Depot and drilled halfway through one side, and then finished it out through the other side as to not create any fractures or blown out wood fragments, which is the right way to drill through wood.

So for instants, if you have a RF Nomad with an RCA that you"d prefer cable out through the back, you can achieve this very simply and in your desired location without problems. So don"t let that deter you from picking up this case, it"s fantastic!
