Very Reminiscent of the Bullet -- But that's not a bad thing.

By Jed from Augusta GA on October 3, 2023 Music Background: 20+ years of experience

I am a long-time proponent of the Squier bullet guitars, so when this revamp of the line came out, I knew I wanted to grab one. On paper, this strat looks promising: a unique color, a tremolo system, improved pickups. It seems like a homerun waiting to happen. After having owned it for several months, I can report on this guitar's virtues (which are impressive, given its price point) and its flaws. Bottom line up front: The comfort and playability of the bullet strat is still absolutely here, but the "improvements" feel more like a lateral move than a uniform improvement in quality.

Look:4/5
This guitar looks very cool. In person, the ultraviolet color has this awesome sort of "muted" quality, that makes it easy on the eyes. If you are looking for a bright pop of purple, this may disappoint, but if you, like me, were hoping for a subtler pastel-ish color, its everything you'll want. The woods used in the neck detract slightly from the look: my laurel fretboard is definitely on the "gray" side of brown. Overall though, it's a nice, unique looking instrument.

Very bad

Worst guitar I've ever had even after new strings and a setup. I was told the 50 point inspection doesn't apply to guitars under 400. Shame on you Sweetwater.
