Not just for beginners

By Wicked_Bishop on December 20, 2021 Music Background: Played in working bands from 1988 until 2011

I have a 2020 surf green strat only upgrade was I put fender locking tuners on stays in tune even using the whammy bar I put the tuners off the affinity onto a bullet now both guitars stay in tune playability was never a issue right out of the box sure some better pickups would be a improvement but it's definitely rd worthy I had two American strat plus guitars when they came out with the lace sensor pickups and had neck issues with both don't Judge a book by its price tag

Dee-cent

By Micah from Illinois on December 12, 2021 Music Background: Been Playing 18 years. Fixed many guitars and recently built one from scratch. Heavy rock/heavy metal.

This guitar is good for what it is and its price point. Level frets, paints great, no sharp fret ends. Tuners work, tremelos functional, pickups sound good, electronics work, killer looks.

However the frets were very dull and scratchy when doing vibrato. So i LIGHTLY sanded and polished the frets, with 1500, 2000, and then automobile polish/scratch remover liquid. Fixed it right away.

The truss rod needed tightening, and the bridge saddles needed lowering. But to my surprise, the frets did not buzz after! That is awesome.

Overall im happy with this guitar. Just wanted a basic strat for jamming at the house, and this was a good and economical choice. My only wish is that it had 22 frets. I dont know why every 70s style neck only has 21. Very annoying fender.
