Fender American Ultra Stratocaster HSS - Ultraburst with Rosewood Fingerboard Reviews
Improving on the classic Stratocaster design is a tall order, but one that Fender has followed through with. Introducing the Fender American Ultra Stratocaster HSS — Fender's high-performance ultra-modern incarnation of the Stratocaster. It carries several improvements such as noiseless pickups, a 10"–14" compound radius fretboard, and S-1 switching that takes this strat to a new level. This isn't your classic Strat by any means. Don't worry though, this Strat still gives you all the spank and sparkle you can ask for. Just plug into your favorite amp and you'll immediately hear the difference. The whole instrument has been thought out and designed in painstaking detail, all the way down to the embossed Fender headstock logo and extra comfortable trem arm. To truly experience everything that Fender offers, there's only one instrument to choose — the Fender American Ultra Stratocaster HSS.

Dream Guitar
Matthew really knocked it out of the park with this recommendation. I received this guitar and it exceeded me expectation in both beauty and playability. Thank you Matthew Langston (My Sales Rep) and Sweetwater for providing such a "Sweet" experience
Thank you

Strat Ultra HSS
This Strat is really nice. The ultra burst has that vintage look that is timeless. The neck with the compound radius gives one the ability to play luscious chords and then shred with ease. The feel and the contour are just exceptional. The action was a little high, but that is for my standards. A quick setup and we were in business. The S1 switching is great. I have been changing pickups a lot during songs just because each pickup selection has a unique tone to it. The trem was set just right to do what a Strat is supposed to do when pulling the bar all the way up. I chose the rosewood neck for the sound and the look. My strat is flawless and Fender did a great job building this fine guitar. It is just what I was wanting in a guitar. I do recommend this guitar if you are needing a workhorse that can cover all styles.
WOW!
This is an absolutely beautiful guitar both the craftsmanship and design are incredible. The finish is flawless not an imperfection to be found. The compound radius neck and new smaller neck joint really free up access to the upper frets. The curvy back side is something t behold with the xtra cutouts and relief. Was ready to play right from the box I did however lower the action, personal preference, and set intonation. This is not the first Strat HSS but in the [ast they suffered form to much drop-off when switching from Hums to single coil. Fender has moved this issue with their new coil tap S1 switch and hot 5th gen noiseless pickups. The head stock is finished within embossed logo which is very cool. I highly recommend this guitar for anyone who wants the extra punch of hummies and still wants the twangy single coil sound.Best of both worlds!!!
New Strat
Great feeling and playing axe
I don't get it
I have an amazing left handed Ibanez Artcore Expressionist semi-hollow body connected to a Roland JC-40 Jazz Chorus amp. There is no better jazz sound on the planet. My opinion. Still I have no guitar skills just trying to play a C chord. How can anyone move their fingers across a fretboard, pick the right strings at speed without looking and sound great? I'll probably never learn.
But what I do well is seeing talent in my recording studio. Thus I purchased this for those who have talent including a Fender Champion Amp. If they have talent it is not because a lack of hardware. We'll see...

Fender shipped my guitar with a really poor set up.
Let me start by saying I really like this guitar, aa well as the fabulous service I get from Sweetwater. This guitar is visually very good, but for the title of "Ultra" it did not play very well. The action and intonation was way off when I received it new. So I took it to my Lutherie for a set up. He found the nut was not properly cut, the tremolo was not adjusted properly, the intonation was off on three strings, and the neck and center pickups were not at the correct height. This is not a Sweetwater issue, it's a Fender issue. They should be ashamed for shipping their top of the line guitar in that condition. If I had tried to play it in the showroom in the condition I received it, I may have chosen another brand of guitar. It's a fine guitar after a good set up, but Fender should be better than this.
