I'm in Love.

By Chris from Wisconsin on April 2, 2024 Music Background: Home Player/Collector

I was drawn by the 3-tone burst/flame combo. I may put a white guard on it, becaue I have always wanted the 'target' 1963 look. But I am warming to the brown shell guard. This came a few days ago. Amazingly, I was able to wait over night to play it. But I could not put it down the next day. My John Mayer strat had the tall thin frets also (6105). I'm not sure they're my favorites. They feel a little sharp at first. But I forgot about that pretty quick. I've used 10's for the last 8 years, and these were slinky feeling. But I am considering leaving it floating with the 9's. With the taller frets, the bendability is insane, and the thinner frets do provide great intonation. The tones are classic strat, but these pups are definitely a notch above. I measure that against a couple American Series Strats (2001-2008) that I play most often, but I've own several Custom Shop Strats too, one with Fat 50's. The three pup combo on the second setting offers a new sound to the pallete. Just the sweetests sounds emitting from my fender tweed amp right now.

70th Anniversary American Pro Strat

By Mitch Lenker from Hummelstown, PA on January 25, 2024

First off, the flame maple top is absolutely stunning. I have always wanted a Strat with flame maple and this thing is spot on. The finish is beautiful as well. I love the 2-tone comet burst.

While I personally do not play with .009 strings, the initial setup and tone of the guitar was out of this world. Never had a guitar that played this good before. Just sent it off to get set up with .011s so that I don't feel like I have noodles on there hahahaha.

All in all I cannot wait to play this guitar for years to come and pass it down to my family.

I already feel like SRV with this thing!! \m/

Beautiful Guitar

By Sweetwater Customer on January 23, 2024

This is one of the most beautiful strats I have ever seen. I am not 100% on the sound. I need to play with pickup heights and also swap the strings to 10s. I may end up swapping the pickups out.
