Fender Custom Shop GT11 Relic Stratocaster - Vintage White - Sweetwater Exclusive Reviews
Over the long and iconic history of Fender Custom Shop, thousands of Stratocaster variations have been produced. None are like this one. The GT11 starts with a lightweight, roasted alder body and a roasted AAA flame maple neck for a very open and balanced tone. With the Sweetwater Exclusive 11"-radius fingerboard, the GT11 provides a playing surface that inspires and delivers more speed and precision. Add in three custom-wound Sweet ’64 pickups with the Half Blender switching system and Fat ’50s wiring, and you’ve got a premium guitar for any style of music. Topping off the feature-laden GT11 is an updated tremolo with improved string spacing and vintage staggered pole tuning machines. The Relic’d body and neck combined with Closet Classic hardware give the GT11 Stratocaster a vintage, worn-in look and feel with precision performance.

Good Lord What A Strat
It really doesnt get better than this! Pictures don't do justice as to how great this guitar looks, feels, and sounds. The Fender Custom shop makes guitars with MOJO! It's worth the price, once you experience the custom shop you cant go back! I think most will agree. I gigged with my new GT-11 Strat tonight, wow, just wow! Also, I had mine plexed and set up by Sweetwater....it arrived ready to rock, beyond great! These guitars are pricey, but for a very good reason, thin your heard, sell your house, sell your children, get this guitar!!!
Great instrument, great service
My first Fender Custom, chose the GT11 primarily because of the 11" radius and neck shape without ever holding one. That's kind of crazy, but the specs best suited my preferences among the CS strats offered that I didn't have to custom order. One day later, with several hours of playing in, I totally agree with myself and wouldn't change a thing about this guitar. It sounds, feels, and plays as good as it looks. Arrived very quickly in perfect condition. As always, was great working with my sales engineer Kyle, he makes this stuff super easy. Thanks!
Best Strat I've ever played
I've owned Danocasters which are awesome and some custom shop guitars, but this one tops them all.
I stayed up rather late playing the GT11 Strat which arrived yesterday, and I have to say it is the best Stratocaster I have ever played, hands-down. The neck and weight are perfect, the finish and aging are good, and the pickups with blend feature gives the Strat an incredible breadth of tones. What a guitar!
Special Instrument
This guitar is pure joy . she sounds so good and colorful . Once you warm up and get in the zone a couple hours will pass before you even realize it. Every position sounds sexy , the feel of the neck is perfect for chords or soloing . You know when you pull a guitar out of a case that makes you think & play better than you would normally that there's something special there. Thanks TJ for the smooth process as usual ! This was my first fender custom shop strat and I reallly love it .
Stunning and outstanding playability
This is my first custom shop guitar. The roasted neck is visually stunning and plays like a dream after breaking it in. The maple neck felt a little sticky at first, but this is no longer an issue. Highly recommended.
Exceptional instrument, exceptional customer service from David Winkert and the Sweetwater team
First, the GT11 is a beautiful guitar. I had the Sweetwater techs put slightly heavier gauge strings and setup to E flat tuning and could not be happier! The 4-1/2 is due to a slight issue I have with the volume pot. There is quite a jump in volume at about 7. Not a huge deal and I will just swap myself with the pots that I prefer. More importantly, I must recognize the customer service at Sweetwater and most notably, my Sales Engineer David Winkert. I have purchased a number of high-end items through David. In these days of online shopping for just about everything, we don't have the luxury sometimes to sit in a store and play the guitars and amps that we're interested in for hours until we find if that special connection is there or not, so we order online and hope for the best. Sometimes when we order something online with high hopes, it may not live up to the hype we've built up in our head, or there is a defect, or it may need some other special attention that you wouldn't expect on a new purchase. This has happened with me a few times and there has not been a single instance where Daivd and Sweetwater didn't go above and beyond to make me happy, either by allowing a return, exchange, or repair. They have been flawless in the service they provide. Thank you Daivd and Sweetwater!!
