Fender Custom Shop GT11 New Old Stock Stratocaster - Bright Sapphire Metallic - Sweetwater Exclusive Reviews

Solidbody Electric Guitar with Roasted Ash Body, AAA Roasted Flamed Maple Neck, AAA Rosewood Fingerboard, 3 Single-coil Pickups, and RSD Floating Tremolo - Bright Sapphire Metallic

Over the long and iconic history of Fender Custom Shop, thousands of Stratocaster variations have been produced. None are like this one. The GT11 starts with a lightweight, roasted ash body and a roasted AAA flame maple neck for a very open and balanced tone. With the Sweetwater-exclusive 11-inch-radius fingerboard, the GT11 provides a playing surface that inspires and delivers more speed and precision. Add in three custom-wound Sweet ’64 pickups with the Half Blender switching system and Fat ’50s wiring, and you’ve got a premium guitar for any style of music. Topping off the feature-laden GT11 is an updated tremolo with improved string spacing and vintage staggered pole tuning machines. A NOS flash-coat lacquer finish gives the GT11 Stratocaster a vintage look that couples beautifully with its precision-performance hardware.

Wow

By John from Houston on May 6, 2022 Music Background: 6. Years guitar player.

I've never looked at a guitar online and nearly felt an instant connection. I can't afford it but I can tell This would feel amazing to play. Just in my mind moving across the fretboard is like butter. The action is so right on. The whole sound is a stratocaster that is unique quacky and spring like. Tone jumps off the strings. Forget about it. For those that can afford this I don't envy your money until today. The day you scooped up the most amazing Guitar I've ever seen. This a dream guitar.

The best Strat I’ve ever owned!

By Doug Robinson from Gettysburg, PA, USA on December 8, 2020 Music Background: Been playing for 55 years and currently play in a local Blues band.

...and I've owned over 20 in my life, including off the rack, anniversary editions, FCS relics, and two FCS Masterbuilts.

Having said that, there are myriad options for a Strat, so this one happens to perfectly fit my bill: the neck shape, width, and radius...along with narrow/tall frets. I've recently settled on 9.5" radius necks for my Strats to go along with my 12" radius Gibson ES model.

The 11" radius brings the feels much closer together.

The build and construction are flawless and the setup (.10s) was perfect. For the first time, I made no adjustments. I did switch to the supplied vintage strap buttons, but that's it.

I had trouble with the neck finish on my EJ Strat being sticky, but not on this one. Also, the neck feels that it's been rolled, so it's very comfortable.

Like build specs, sound is very subjective and a personal preference. It sounds great through the P-T-P DRRI I got through Sweetwater. I've added blend pots to all my Strats and this one included it.

I've been doing business with my sound engineer Jon for a long time and he made the purchase very easy.

I am now convinced that the perfect Strat for each individual player is out there...you just have to find it.

I found mine.
