A NOS flash-coat lacquer finish gives the GT11 Stratocaster a vintage look that couples beautifully with its precision-performance hardware.

An Enjoyable Ride
Thanks Sweetwater for putting together one amazing spec'd Stratocaster!
From the amazing looks that are provided by using stellar woods that are then beautifully roasted to perfection...to the features that for this guy are long overdue....WOW! The roasted woods definitely adds some zing, ring, umph and resonance. The tweaked bridge taking away high and low e fall off - OH MY YES - about time!!! The ability to tweak the truss rod at the headstock - why yessir....so nice. 11" radius - again, so nice. The pickups are nicely balanced - warm and rounded yet plenty of spank. Great job Mike Lewis! Staggered tuners.... sweet. Pop in Trem! Blender pot! Great spec's!!! Absolutely love mine. Ash body with Rosewood board - great combo. Very comfy too at 7lbs 3 ounces. Got mine as new locally from someone who unfortunately needed to let it go shortly after getting it...I would not hesitate to buy a new one from Sweetwater if this one somehow vanished.

Best Fender Stratocaster I've ever owned.
Don't ding me
Not being a huge fan of guitars intentionally dinged or scraped, I opted for the NOS. This guitar, is simply amazing. Best guitar I've ever owned. It plays well and the pickups sound great, so smooth! My last real fender (other than MIM's) was an early 80's MIJ tele with Fralin pickups, and it's super nice. But this is better - both in sound and feel. The only thing I might point out is, the frets are tall(ish) vs. something like the old tele, but for most people that's a good thing. Every time I pick it up, I find it hard to put it down. And it seems to bring out creativity. Maybe that's psychology at work because of the price. But I think these guitars, if you're lucky enough to get one, are probably worth every penny. Also, Dave Brow at Sweetwater is great to work with.
This guitar drips smoke...
I purchased this guitar after three months of tireless research into all things Custom Shop strats. During my research I compiled detailed specs that I wanted in mine. And folks when I say mine I mean the axe that I always wanted. This guitar is the culmination of those specs and then some.
Credit my Sweetwater guys Andy Rice and Aaron Cieslowski. They tag teamed this order and provided exceptional service, attention to detail and walked this incredible stat right into my hands. From providing accurate detailed information to excellent set up, to shipping, to follow up...these guys hit their marks.
The guitar itself is incredible...Sweetwater does a good job of providing excellent high resolution images before and after the sale. However, I was not prepared for what I saw when I first opened the case and laid eyes on it! As good as the pics were...the guitar is just so much prettier in person.
Every aspect of this guitar exceeded my expectations. It resonates like a Steinway...no matter where you lay your hand, it rings and rings. The natural sustain is sick and glorious at the same time. Plays like no strat I've ever picked up. The 11" radius neck is as slick and gorgeous as I had hoped. The pickups are some of the best sounding vintage type I've heard..love the 1/2 blender and tone bleed circuit.
If you are concerned about spending this kind of cash on a guitar you haven't held...just get out your credit card. This guitar is exceptional.

21st Century Stratocaster
This is a vintage sounding Custom Shop Stratocaster with 21st century features: 11" radius fretboard, treble bleed, blender pot" (produces Tele"-like tones), RWRP pickups (no hum in 2 and 4 pickup positions), premium build materials and solid build quality. The big mystery was the RSD bridge (even after talking with Fender, still don"t know what "RSD" stands for). The RSD bridge allows tremolo bar friction adjustment via the secondary hole on the bridge without pulling out the tremolo block (genius)! Perhaps the only thing missing from this CS guitar is Fender"s micro tilt neck to help even-up the action...the factory set-up was a little high above the 12th fret considering the 11" radius fretboard. Regardless, this is easily a 5-star CS Strat" from Fender and great purchase for me from Sweetwater!
