I love this Guitar
Let me start By thanking all those folks at SweetWater who check the product before it goes out the door. It made my first play of the Stage a wonderful occasion. Pictures are great, but in person, the guitar is even more beautiful. Job well done Cordoba! I use a Roland Acoustic Singer for amplifying when needed and am very pleased with the over all sound. It can be scary to purchase a guitar you do not get to physically play and see how it feels. I don't worry about that with SweetWater. Thanks to all of you!
Cordoba Stage... WOW!!!!
The well-named Cordoba Stage is a marvel of guitar engineering. Despite being a thinline, there's nothing thin about the sound. Unplugged, it's surprisingly loud, with a wonderful warm tone. Plugged in, it comes alive with the nuances the marvelous Fishman pickups provide. Amped, this one can hold it's own with a full band behind it, and do so with style. And, it comes with one of the best gig bags I've ever seen.
Thank you Cordoba,Sweetwater, and my great sales engineer Andy Miller!
Astounding, especially at this price
I owned a full size Cordoba a while ago, so I had some confidence this too would be a wonderful instrument, and it is. It is actually better than expected in every way. Far as I can tell the build quality is flawless. Plug it in and, wow, what amazing amplified tones. Straight into the PA or into my Helix, it takes no effort to get wonderful sounds out of this guitar.
Playability is great too. The neck is familiar enough to a classical guitar player but accessible to those of us who primarily play electrics and steel string acoustics after a little assimilation. It does feel very classical, just thinner front to back and slight narrower width wise, but with a very familiar classical U profile.
I also enjoy that the unplugged sound is very good and loud enough to allow you to practice acoustically. Very satisfying. The uniquely styled gig bag, also extremely well made and classy, is icing on the cake.

Cordoba Stage Thinbody Nylon Acoustic-electric Guitar is an outstanding instrument.
Cordoba Stage Thinbody Nylon Acoustic-electric Guitar is an outstanding instrument. It plays great, good intonation, sounds very good. An excellent value, lightweight, good fret work, looks BEAUTIFUL. It's meant to be plugged in. Unplugged it sounds good for what it is, but, it is meant to be amplified for the best sound. e.g. You don't buy an es335 to play it acoustically and the same is true here. It's an electric nylon string. That being said, the acoustic sound is much more satisfying than an es335, so the analogy is not completely accurate. Playing the Cordoba unplugged is more enjoyable than a es335.
These are an incredible value.
Sweetwater and my rep Aaron Rom continue to provide first-class service in every regard.
Cordoba nylon
This guitar is one of the nicest sounding electric nylon guitars I've played. Plus it's beautiful.
The Setup needed no adjustment. Sweetwater 55 point
setup could not have been better.
Thanks so much. Would buy
My guitar arrived superbly packed and upon opening it had not even one fingerprint on it. Ready to lay right out of the box.
You guys rock
I was super impressed.

Love it.
Sounds great. Perfect neck. Feels great. I love this guitar.
Cordoba Stage, Rightly Named
Hello all,
I generally don't write reviews, but thought I should on this guitar. As far as craftsmanship,I would say excellent. Fit a Finish ,no flaws. The build quality is what you should expect from Cordoba. I think it's a great crossover guitar. If you are used to playing acoustics or electrics this meets you somewhere in the middle. The action is higher than an electric player is used to but has to be because of the thickness of nylon strings and the way they vibrate. Since this has a truss rod things can be adjusted for feel. There's really no cons, but I think the neck could have been a little thinner for me. After owning it a while now I used to the shape and it works for me. This is one that makes you play differently, which in my case is a good thing. I'm getting more into finger style, which is one reason that I bought it. Tone wise, it sounds as it should . Love it plugged into my PA system. Acoustic tone is good especially for a Thinline. Where it shines is the tones from the body mics. If you play at night thru headphones you do hear the sizzle from the Pizzo pick up but you can adjust things out a bit The blend control is awesome. The EQ control is a necessary add to get that classical tone we all love just right. And it does a great Willie Nelson style tone thru the PA. The best Pro is that it makes me want to play in a new style and practice more to get it right. And by the way a Truly Great gig bag included. All in all I very happy with the purchase. Sweetwater did a great job all the way around. Great experience. I Recomend this one.
Solid addition
This has been a great addition to my collection of steel string semi hollows, electrics, and acoustics. Having a nylon in a more familiar format is great for long practice days when steel strings start digging into my callouses.
The neck and string spacing are certainly wider than steel strings, but I'd caution against any nylon with a tighter spacing. You'll start to get buzzing against your fingers while strumming full bore. The adjustment is not bad after a few days.
Some of the veneers on these are gorgeous and I'd recommend looking at a few for a good one.
This guitar gets more play than my others in the same price range and comparable play to some of my more expensive guitars.
Would recommend.
Amazing electric nylon string
I purchased one early in the production run, and the neck angle was such that it had high action that could not be adjusted at the saddle, so I returned it. Another player ordered one but felt that the neck dimensions were not good for his hand, so I purchased his. The action was amazing, and I really liked the sound and playability. There was an issue with the tuning machines. The holes for the rollers were off slightly, which caused the tuners to bind. I realigned the holes and replaced one set of tuners, which fixed the problem. I replaced the stock pickup with an upgraded Fishman Matrix which really elevated the instrument sonically. The Matrix paired perfectly with top sensors, and was very easy to connect to the preamp. I had to affix additional wire ties inside the body to prevent wires from touching the top and causing vibrations. Even with the quality control issues, this is a fantastic guitar that looks and sounds amazing. I hope that Cordoba will correct these minor issues, even if it means selling this instrument at a higher price point. The design is good enough that it would be worth it. I have owned multiple acoustic-electric or solidbody nylon string guitars, and the Stage has the best feature set for the money. 3 stars for the condition of the guitar when shipped, 5 stars for the guitar in its present state.
good stuff
I've been purchasing thin body nylon strings since the '80's with the Chet Atkins. This is very nice, it's a step beyond the Godin. It's not perfect, these are not amplified 'classical' guitars - they're a different animal. I started recording with it - I'm impressed in many ways. This is certainly an instrument to have in your arsenal!
Beautiful Guitar
This Cordoba is a beautiful looking and sounding instrument. I did return is after trying it for two days and realizing that it wasn't right for my hands. It was so well made and gorgeous that I almost kept it just to have it around, but need to make sure I'm investing wisely in guitars. I am so impressed with the service at Sweetwater and my rep Danny Bennet. I will by again soon from Sweetwater!
Cordoba Stage thin body Amber.
Well, I own several handmade guitars as well as a Cordoba Studio. I just purchased this guitar because of its dual electronics. So the body is very nice and light. The neck is somewhat between an Electric guitar and acoustic which is great for Rythem playing. Soloing is also very comfortable on this guitar. My guitar is very weak on the bass strings in comparison to the three bottom strings. Many times this is due to the saddle not sitting in the slot properly. I haven't tried to change the strings to see if it corrects itself. Overall, it's a nice guitar for this price point.
Funny noise when plugged in to amp
This guitar created an "after-note" ghost echo sound after plucking a note when connected to an amp. Weird. Sweetwater replaced it and the second one did the same. I sent both back and bought a different brand.
It should be noted I did a direct comparison with this cordoba guitar against a 12 String electric/accoustic and two six string electric guitars and their notes were clear and clean. No hint of this ghost after-note noise.
As always Sweetwater acted in my best interests to make me satisfied with my final choice. Thank you Sweetwater.
